Pacquiao would whoop his ass Frankly, Barrera morales and Marquez were all more skilled and faster than Chavez.
They were all faster than Chavez but they were NOT more skilled overall. Certainly, not defensively. Chavez was a better infighter than all three as well. The one range where Barrera, Marquez, and Morales were better at was outside of the pocket.
I know he was good at catching punches with his gloves, but Pacquiao s shots wouldn’t be pitter patter shots like Meldrick Taylor.. and he ain’t blocking all of the Pacquiao shots they’d be ripping him
chavez beats him 140 down. pac is better 147 up. chavez was undentable at lower weights, and his unrivaled body attack on a pac not used to being crowded like that would wear pac down.
I'd have to go with Pac by late tko or UD. This would be an absolute war but I feel Pac has the edge in speed and power, which would be the difference.
You also forgot to mention that Chavez had some of the best head movement ever seen (people don't notice this because Chavez was more offensive-minded and not super quick).
You never seen any Chavez fight if you think that. And I’m saying this as Morales as my favorite fighter of all time. Faster, yea. More skilled, not at all.
I favour Pac to beat another Mexican legend here, like he has done so many times before. Pac's speed, work rate, southpaw style, use of angles would be the difference. Pac would beat Chavez to the punch all night, let rip with combinations, then pivot off and then counter as Chavez chases him, much like how Pac stopped Morales the first time. Styles make fights and I think Pac has the style to come out on top. Chavez is exceptional on the inside and breaks guys down but Pac's speed, lateral movement would prevent Chavez from working on the inside as much as he'd like and Pac isn't getting broken down, Pac is just too well conditioned, when have we ever seen prime Pac wane late in a fight, he only ups the intensity. Pac's style in general is all wrong for Chavez's pressure style, you don't pressure Pac you walk him onto counters. Going right at Pac with his speed and power is a recipe for disaster.
