How would you see this fight go, I see Kosta tszyu giving him the toughest battle he had ever faced and with kosta landing tough straight rights set up by the jab, i think he will have enough to beat cotto in the later rounds, i remember demarcus corley landing clean shots and damging cotto and also ricardo torres doing damge on him! so Kosta tszyu would of had really manged a late tko in the 8th, but a great class of style in which cotto would really land damging blows on kostas body. it would of been a great fight!
Zoo couldnt handle the smart pressure Cotto would put on him, I take Cotto in one of the best fights ever.
Cotto is more comfortable at 147 since he's not draining himself to make weight. I attribute some of the weight problems @ 140, where leading up to the weigh-in Cotto sometimes looked like he had died a few years before, to some of the problems with punch resistance. At 140, a prime Tszyu knocks Cotto out. If it's @ 147, well I think Tszyu had the skills and style to be effective, but I'm not sure if he wins.
at 140 it would have been a tossup ..b/c if the limited hatton was able to make him quit at 140 then I don't see why Cotto couldn't beat him at 147 its a no contest Cotto knocks him out
Tszyu was more troubled by swarmers like Hatton than methodical pressure fighters like Cotto, because they smothered him and took him off his game, which was to find his space, measure the opponent and time them. Also, Cotto was weaker, less durable, and less versatile/experienced at 140 than he has shown at 147. I see Tszyu rocking Cotto often, and he's a much better finisher than the lesser fighters who rocked Cotto at the weight. Cotto's pressure could bother Tszyu at times though, he'd have to be in his face though.
Cotto has a great chance at 140 and wins hands down at 147. I dont understand why people act as if Cotto was some scrub at 140 just b/c he got wobbled twice. They keep saying he wasnt versatile. The people saying this probably didnt see how he thoroughly outboxed Abdullaev and N'dou. He may have been weight drained, but Cotto never showed stamina problems at 140. He went the distance on his back foot against N'dou and went a long 12 rounds with Paulie. Cotto is a beast now, but he was still an animal at 140.
Judah pressured him... Just because of the Hatton fights people get fooled, he wasnt half the fighter he was by that time
Cotto has been boxing more and with that and taking his time I can see that Kostya might be able to work something in there and land and drop him.
