Cotto is a one handed puncher, who can't defend the right hand (out of orthodox stance) ... I think that no matter the weight Cotto gets knocked out.

Cotto got hit by a couple of right hands against Gomez ...

You don't get pressure when your opponent is on the canvas!

At 140 lbs Kostya wins this one with a mid to late round TKO. I just can't see the 140 lb version of Cotto dealing with Tzy's right hand.

Cause the limited Hatton at 140 lbs has a cast iron chin (no mayweather references please). The fight between Hatton and Tzu was close and Hatton had to walk through some pretty awsome bombs to win. Bombs that a 140lb young, dried out Cotto could never take.

    A) If Cotto isn't "prime" yet - Then how do you gauge how Tszyu would perform at 147 with no precedent? You can't - So the 147 matchup is totally on opinion.

    B) Cotto's pressure is a steady pressure - He's not fast, he's no slow either, but he's not a slickster.

Planumpati - How do you qualify Cotto as a better boxer? Tszyu was a legendary amatuer boxer - I've never seen Cotto box at the same level.

    KT never fought 147.
As for the matchup, Cotto gets hit too often/too easily in the early rounds, in most of what i've seen. He'd have to display a lot more attention to his evasive/defense to even see the 8th, 9th, 10th or final rounds.

Why are we talking about a 147 matchup when KT never even fought there? Who knows what beast he could have became? At 140 I'd have to go for Tszyu - very accurate, a lot of power and a very good chin.

This probably happens at 140 as Kostya didn't fight above there.

Anywhere from the first to the sixth, Kostya scores a one-punch KO or lands a devastating shot that puts Cotto on ***** street, finishing him quickly thereafter.

It's crazy people are giving Cotto so much props already. Who has Cotto beaten at 147 that even remotely compares to a PRIME Tsyzu?

His best victory is over a past prime SSM, and that was a very close fight that could of gone either way.

It took him 11 rounds to get through Judah, who was nowhere near the fighter he was when Tsyzu blasted him out, as Judah has never been the same since that fight.

Tsyzu was a monster who could do it all AND if we are talking the best Tsyzu vs the best Cotto, then I would take Tsyzu any day of the week at 140 or 147.

Too strong, too skilled, too smart and just too good.
