Prime Kov vs Bivol?

God knows I cant stand kovalev, and that I think he's an idiot and a soab.

But I wouldnt put a sinlge penny against him in his prime.

 

I fancy Kovalev due to his long jab, distance control, timing and crushing power.

Bivol is faster and more busy with equivalent distance control and better defence so it's not conclusive by any means. It could be that Bivol is light enough on his feet to stick and move and to flurry when the gap presents itself and to pull away in the later rounds with his superior stamina.

But I think Kovalev's jab is going to be very problematic and that a prime Kovalev eventually times him and dumps a bomb (s) on him.

Bivol is a very good fighter though.

 

Pretty sure a thread like this was started a few weeks ago, with most predicting Kovalev as the victor.

 

I would take Bivol as he has shown resolve in fights and seems very determined to win as with Kov hes fine but the minute something does not go his way......

 

Prior to Bivol's win over Zurdo, I believe.

 

Slightly favorite Kovalev I think.

Class match up.. there's so many Fighters I would have loved to see prime Kovalev against.. Bivol and Stevenson for example... might be my favourite fighter of the past 10-years.. I remember the buzz about him when he was operating at his peak .. was a joy to watch.. this one would be tight.. edging towards Kovalev

 

So when was Kovalev out of prime, after the Ward fights?

 

I gotta go with Bivol. Bivol's not a big hitter, but I think he can and will hurt Kovalev.

 

Comes down to Bivol's footspeed vs Kovalev's raw power. Draw for me.

 

I would argue his prime was exactly the Cleverly fight.
