That win by Hatton always bothered me.He mauled a past his prime KT and then I had to listen to all the Hatton fans talk about how Hatton would have beaten KT at any stage of KT's career.Bull****.Hatton wouldn't have made it to the 5th round against a prime KT. Hatton and his team saw an almost 40 year old KT who really hadn't been active for almost 2 years and jumped on it.
I dont think KT was past his prime at all. it is not fair to say he was past his prime, he has a big win streak coming into that fight. I think it was styles fight. Styles make fights.
Dave Parris is the reason Hatton did not get KTFO against KT. Nothing about that bout resembled a Boxing match.
Nope. Tszyu always struggles with Hatton's style. Either he stops Hatton early or the fight goes the same way. Stamina was never Tszyu's strong point.
That was the reason Zoo quit on his stool? I don't think so. He was starting to get mauled and he has nothing left. Zoo's stamina was almost as bad as Jermain Taylor's.
Although Kostya had probably seen better days by the time he fought Ricky, the man was coming in there as a huge favourite and not as some washed up boxer to give Hatton a name in his resume. He won all of his last fights against decent competition impressively and was heading into the fight as a favourite against Hatton. Maybe if they had a ref that broke clinches sooner then perhaps he could have fared better but Hatton had the right plan to beat him from the get go which was to smother him before he could unload his heavy punches.
By the fifth round of that fight Tszyu had Hatton completely figured out and Hatton didn't start winning rounds again until that awful low blow in retaliation to a legit kd. Tszyu faded badly after that but was still a point up when he retired on my card.
Prime Tszyu is a different animal. As was a shot Chavez, when Tszyu beat him. It's life, Fighters lose & feed the next comer.
