Lets see.One of the hardest hitters in jr.welterweight history in his prime facing a face first brawler who has a chin that isn't the greatest.

Prime KT moved alot more then the past his prime KT.Got his punches off much faster as well.

Mitchell wasn't exactly at the height of his powers either.

Sharmba Mitchell???Are you kidding me?Every time Mitchell stepped up to the elite level what happened?HE GOT KNOCKED OUT.Mitchell had a horrible chin.STAND in front of someone with power and your goinfg to get knocked out which is exactly what Mitchell did.

No, this is the reason that Zoo quit.

Parris failed to enforce the rules. End of story. Tszyu was exhausted and frustrated because Hatton got away with murder for 11 rounds without so much as a warning.

    prime tszyu wins. 2 things:

    (1) Tszyu was set up for failure that night. But he was da man and he wasn't scared of **** so he did it anyways - went into ricky's backyard with everything stacked against him (I'm talking ref, judges, etc)
    (2) He was getting old.

Zoo was exhausted because his stamina was always his weak spot. That one low blow was not the reason he lost and I am a huge fan of Zoo.

Mitchell was still a good fighter at that point.

What a crock of ****! Are you broadly applying your "bad stamina" comment to his entire career, based on events that occurred in his very last fight? A relatively high percentage of Tszyu's KO's came during the second half of his fights. You just have to watch some of his best performances, like the ones against Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Ruelas, Bergman, Pineda, Rodriguez, etc. to know that his stamina was very good.

Zoo's stamina failed him against a limited Phillips as well. He improved it after that fight but he was no Arguello in that department. It was always his biggest weakness and it has cought up to him in the Hatton fight again. Plain and simple.

No, it was that in conjunction with the fact that Hatton was allowed to wrestle him the entire fight.

People ***** about the Ref in the Zoo fight and Hatton's fans ***** about the ref in the Mayweather fight. Neither would have make that much of a difference. The results would have been the same.

you deny the impact a ref can have on a fight? A ref can change so many aspects of a fight and these are 2 notorious situations in which the ref did just that

Refs have some impact on a fight but Hatton was showing a very good chin by eating Zoo's right hand on a few occassions and wearing him down with agression. KT would have lost that fight in Vegas.

Look, I agree that his stamina failed him in both the Phillips and Hatton fights. But everything must be judged in context. You can't take an observation from two fights that occurred on opposite ends of his prime years- roughly a ten year period- and apply it as a macro concept to his entire career.

I've never understood why Tszyu has always been particularly susceptible to this kind of flawed reasoning. It's like saying that Ali could never have beaten Marciano because his stamina was bad- just look at the Holmes fight. The reality is that his abilities that night were in no way indicative of what he was capable of, when he was anywhere close to his fighting best.
