I think Holmes was a better boxer, but I'd be worried about Lennox landed a right hand over Larry's dropped hands. BTW, when did Lennox become top ten all time?

Lewis, probably by decision. While Lewis hasn't fought someone like Holmes Larry has fought no-one anything like Lewis, nor close to his calibre.

His sheer size and reach is going to give Larry lots of problems and he is a big guy that can actually fight. He also sports immense power, especially in the right hand which Holmes could be somewhat vulnerable to.

Lewis' size and reach is going to offset Holmes jab somewhat and even when it was working he still had plenty of exchanges. Lewis has a decent jab himself and imo would play his safety first card. During these times he was tough to make headway against and also was able to conserve stamina, a good idea vs Holmes who is strong late.

The threat of the right hand and power imo would allow Lewis to keep Holmes mostly where he wants him. I also think he would throw that left hook right hand here and there like he did against Rahman. I'd be shocked if Lewis didn't have Holmes in a fair bit of trouble at times. He would be extremely hard to finish tho, even for Lennox.

Both corners would negate each other, both Steward and Futch would have flawless fight plans drawn up for their combatants.

    Another vote for Lewis.

I like Larry against other opponents where he has the size advantage. A left hook off his jab would sure help his cause against this guy but it isn't there. And Lennox is going to do like everyone else and land a right hand over that Holmes jab or right after he brings it back with those hands low.

8 rounds to 4 rounds type decision, with a knockdown to bolster the scorecards.

Larry Holmes gets up off the canvas and boxes his way to a close but clear UD. Holmes was a shade quicker and moved better than Lewis. He could stay a step ahead of Lennox.

    Probably Lewis at first glance.

But if anybody has the ability to trouble the heck out of Lewis it's Holmes and his excellent jab. If Lewis isn't on top form Holmes could outbox him handily.

    Easy night for Lewis.

Holmes was, is and always will be the guy who was afraid to fight Page and Thomas. I suspect this hero worship comes from the comeback era when he has marginal success and a new popularity, but he just wan't that great.

I've lamented over this fight numerous times and despite being a big Lewis fan I think Holmes takes it on a close decision.

Lewis relied a lot on his jab, it set up everything for him but Holmes' jab was better, faster, snappier, more consistent, more versatile. We've seen Lewis out jabbed before and when that happened against Bruno, Mercer and Vitali he showed he could adapt and take the fight to his opponent successfully.

But I don't think he'd he as successful with this strategy against prime Holmes. Holmes was so much faster and more elusive than Bruno, Mercer and Vitali. He has so much speed with a Lewis coming to him and negating his size he'll be allowed to lead and land those fast combo's.

Lewis of course would have his successes as well. He had a good jab, he had the size and power advantage and I could definitely see him dropping Holmes if he lands that big right hand and maul Holmes in the clinches where he would be far stronger. But I just don't think it's enough.

All times except once, he rose up to win anyways. It was always a huge puncher: Shavers, Weaver, Butterbean, Snipes, Tyson.

So Lewis is a huge puncher and there is a chance that he will knock him down.

At the same time, Lewis was stopped by two lesser opponents. You can't say the same for Larry Holmes.

Lewis had more power than spoon, was bigger and better plus the only weakness of lewis was his average chin however holmes did not hit hard enough to worry him with a big single shot, lewis had a huge right hand and if he hurts holmes( he would 100%) lewis will finish the job,he was no ****py finisher shavers.
Holmes nearly could not handle spoon how the hell is going to handle lewis who was bigger, stronger, better, more powerful, with a longer reach and height?
