Do you think he proved anything by fighting Munro,Finnegan or rematching Corbett who had been retired for 2 years?
Yes I do. Corbett gave him the toughest fight of his career, prior to the Johnson fight, so why are we even debating whether he was a worthy challenger? Finnegan was obviously a tune up, so I don't see a problem there. Munro was at least a competent challenger.
Yes, I do. Corbett gave him a tough fight. Tenured champions should give rematches. As it was, Jeffries had picked up a lot of skill, which is hopefully something you have learned and can remember, and Corbett who was older paid the price. We all read the testimonials. Jack Munroe ( Check your spelling ), lasted four rounds with Jeffries on tour ( he was floored at least twice ) and then lied about what happened. He has wins over Maher and Sharkey, and draw with Griffin. At the point he was undefeated coming into the Jeffries match. A bog man at 215 pounds, he lasted two rounds, and was essentially finished in one round, Finnegan was a warm-up fight. When a top talent take s a fight like this, he should blow him out, which is what happened. 55 seconds later, the match was over.
If they all gang up on him at once I’d give them 40/60 odds On their own, Fitz has the best chance to land a lucky haymaker on a lazy Lewis but even the odds are like 0.4%
