Prime Lennox Lewis vs prime Jerry Quarry

As much as I like the Bellflower Bomber, Lewis is way too talented. He stops Quarry late, possibly on cuts while way ahead on the scorecards.

 

I like Quarry but this is a mismatch. Lewis by a brutal stoppage. Quarry does not have the speed to get close to Lewis. Just a sitting target.

 

Keeping a close eye on the "Quarry knocks him out" poll results. Just curious if anyone has a wild enough imagination to actually choose that. My guess is somebody probably will...

 

Quarry comes in on fire and Lewis puts him out.

So it continues, matchups that make me tut, we all know ( well I think we do ) that it would have been a very one sided contest, the worst of Quarry gets blitzed early 2/3 rounds, the best ( Lyle ) stays around for longer, 8/9 possibly, there is an outside chance that a distracted Lewis, suffers a loss, maybe it's me, in my Victor Meldrew phase, for the brits, but I feel it somewhat dumbs down the forum, no disrespect to the OP, who is a fine poster, and I always follow his trail, anyway nuff said.

Could not agee more.Jerry is one of my top 5 favourite fighters of all time but even i give him next to no chance of defeating Lewis.These type of posts should only be for boxers of similar ability

Thanks for reply, I have said as much for years, it's a waste of time and effort, why can we see it, but the posters who do this type of match up can't, they know their stuff, have a fine posting record, years on board, thousands of contributions, then blot there copy book, it baffles me.

No sir. Not seeing any path to victory for Mr. Quarry here. The image I'm getting of this fight is Lewis landing the jab often (and occasional right hand), sending Jerry's hair flying around all night. I would imagine Lewis doesn't feel threatened at all here, takes his time, and stops Jerry in maybe 8 or 9 rounds.

I will say though that the best of Quarry maybe decisions a fighter who beat Lewis (Oliver McCall), but Lewis seems a terrible match-up for Quarry, at least IMO.

Lewis beats everyone from that era.

 

Lewis could come in flat. Maybe the best version of Quarry could beat the worst version of Lewis.

 

Yep, humble in the jungle lewis vs quarry is a more interesting match-up imo

 

Loved Jerry when he was fighting but his disadvantage that he always had in reach height and weight would be worse then any time in his career and Lewis was also a very talented boxer. Jerry gets out of the 1 st round if he’s lucky.
