Ali by UD Too much movement, too fast, will make LL miss punches that 95% of the time usually land & can take Lennox`s punch on the rare occassion he gets one solid clean one in. The feet of Muhammad Ali are the key here, the outstanding lateral movement he had in his prime will not let Lennox get set to do damage & Ali is gonna beat him to the punch throughout. Speed kills in this one & Ali at 6`3 & 215 aint no midget either so he wont be getting man handled in the clinches either, at least nowhere near enough to wear him out. Ali W12 Lewis.
I dont think you can "play" with someone like Lewis...That being said I dont think this would have been very close in the end. Over 12 it may not be so lopsided...Over 15, Ali is of course more proven and would probably stop Lennox later in the fight.
ali ud lennox struggled with people that could match his jab bruno mercer vitali come to mind and ali had a gret jab crap fight but ali wins imo
I know people are going to hate me for this, but I'm going to have to go with LL. LL's combination of size, strength, intelligence and skill would be unlike anything Ali has ever faced before, and I see LL winning a split decision or a very close UD.
It would be Liston-Ali all over again, Lennox couldn't touch him. Yes Yes, we all know Lennox was very tall, but Liston had a LONGER wingspan and a better jab. If Sonny couldn't do the job, damn sure Lewis can't. Ali makes him look slow and clumsy and does pretty much whatever he wants, maybe even knocks him out given LL's chin problems.
There is nothing Lennox could do to turn this around . One big punch wouldn't do it, Ali's jaw is too solid. Lennox wouldn't be able to get his jab established with Ali beating him to the punch all night. Ali's vulnerability was the left hook, but Lewis's best punch was the right, which was a very difficult punch to hit Ali flush with. If this was a 12 rounder Lewis would see the final bell, but may not have lasted 15.
I would go with Ali,because he had Lennox in speed, mobility,he was a better boxer, and had a better chin. Some people dont like to admit it but Ali was the real deal he had it all.The cool thing about him was that after the exile he didnt mov as much as he did in his 1st career and started to mix it up more which showed his toughness and tenacity.
Could go either way prime for prime, could see Lewis winning but also could see Ali winning, tough one We'll never know the answer.
Difficult one to call Modern day Heaviweights like LL are far stronger than those of the 60s & 70s. Lewis is the pinnacle of the modern day HW due to his sheer size, well above average mobility, power boxing ability and not least his intelligence as a fighter. Lennox Lewis is the nearest thing wev'e seen to the type of fighter that Ali was. Ali's skills were ahead of Lewis's Lewis had far greater power than Ali Ali has the edge in speed Lewis has much greater size than anyone Ali faced even dwarfing Foreman Ali had a granite chin Ali could adapt his style but so could Lewis Ali has Dundee in his corner Lewis has Steward This is a tough one: I could go either way Ali might be too fast for Lewis, keeping him at bay with fast jabs, combos and footwork. Ali wins a UD but he ran all night from Lewis who just could'nt land the big punches or beat Ali to the jab. on the other hand . . . . . Lewis might just wail on Ali in a simular fashion to Foreman but his greater boxing ability allows him to land some telling shots. Lewis does'nt tire and keeeps up the pressure for the duration. If Frazier could catch Ali then Lewis certainly could and Lewis might just give Ali a severe pounding, winning on points and landing Ali in the hospital like after the Manilla fight. My verdict is . . . . It all depends on the night and which fighter out thinks the other (Dundee/Steward) Ali might win on any given day but the day after it might easily be Lewis. Too tough to call which speaks volumes for Ali who has to fight evolution as wel as Lewis. He really was/is THE GREATEST
