Oh come on. That logic is old, and it doesn't always work. you should know that. Is that always how you decide who wins?

Cause if that were the case, Tua, Morrison, Ruddock, Briggs ect would have too.

The Rock could hit with the best of them, but with his short arms, could he stay in the middle of the ring with Lewis and time him with a perfect counterpunch from the outside the way McCall did? And Rahman's reach is over 80 inches, I believe. I can't see Marciano being able to reach Lewis's jaw unless he can get past Lewis's jab, which would be a daunting task.

You think......Joe was old and worn and needed the money. That imo does not even count. I respect Marciano for fighting guys over 200 pounds due to Marciano actually weighing around 187. He was actually a CW fighting HW's. He would get hurt if he fought Lewis. Too big.

Although like I previously stated, I do think Lewis would be too much for Rock, it seems to me the logic that's always used to explain Lewis' losses to less than great fighters was because "he wasn't focused, he was out of shape, he was looking ahead, etc, etc".

If that's the case then Rocky definitely beats Lewis the night Rahman took the title.

Zak, ANY top 50 heavyweight can crack ANY other top 50 heavyweight's chin on a given night, if the guy gets careless or lets his guard down.

I expect Brooklyn's question refers to a night when BOTH guys were at their best and focused.

I have taken to using probabilities in answering these hypotheticals, where no-one can know with certainty how things would turn out.

And even the probabilities are just OPINION.

In this case, my estimate would be:

    Lewis by Decision 60 %
    Lewis by Knockout 10 %
    Marciano by Decision 5 %
    Marciano by Knockout 25 %

Lewis by KO within five rounds. Too big, too strong, too good a jab, too much power.

Lewis by either a brutal KO or the fight would be stopped due to Marciano getting pounded and not answering.... 4-5 rounds

Its not outside of the realm of possibility for Marciano to knock him out, its not like he couldnt do what Lamon Brewster or Hassim Rahman did. That being said, Lewis would a large majority of the time win a lopsided decision or stop him late.

Aside from size the best guys Marciano beat were all past their prime: Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles and Walcott
