Prime Lennox Lewis vs Prime Rocky Marciano

Exactly, yet fans want to put him in as the greatest HW and some over Ali. Again, I give him credit for fighting larger men in that he was not a real HW (187).

Still, i'd pick Lewis by decision. Perhaps resembles the Tua fight a bit, although Marciano comes forward more ruthlessly.

 

As has been stated many times, Lewis is just too big and smart. Marciano would suffer the same fate as the past his prime tyson.

 

Lewis > any sub 200lb fighter ever.

One thing that was very underrated about Lennox was his foot movement, in his fight against Tua, when Tua would charge at him his feet were quick and balanced enough to not let Tua get inside to land any hook, so I dont see how Marciano can do it cause David Tua was'nt successful so I say Lennox by 6th round KO.

 

While I agree with you overall that this fight probably goes to Lewis, the logic of:

is seriously flawed.

David Tua was (is?) no Rocky Marciano.

 

u better believe lewis would treat marciano with respect. i think lennox wins a competitive but clear decision in 12 similar to the tua/holyfield II fights but marciano is supremely skilled both offensively and defensively compared to Tua.

lewis would open up at times but not so much to leave him exposed to marciano's bombs who had knockout power in both fists.

expect the lewis jab to be the story but if it was 15 rounds, all bets are off.

Lewis TKO, Marciano is simply far to small.

 

Lewis has a huge size advantage against Marciano that has to be taken into account. Although all the Marciano supporters will claim it doesn't matter and how Lewis can be taken out with one punch. Marciano never fought a man like Lennox Lewis or anything close to him i would say David Tua is closer or more similar to a Marciano than anybody Rocky fought who was similar to a Lennox Lewis. We do know Marciano can be hurt he was knockdown by Walcott and Moore although they were more flash knockdowns we do know he can be put down. Now Marciano never took shots has hard as Lennox can deliver them so we do not know how Marciano's chin will hold up. Knockout or no knockout Lewis can win the fight by decision if he pleases as well he can outbox Marciano from the outside and would probably just tie him up inclose if he felt uneasy when the Rock got in close.
