.....most of u guys think lewis would win as do i....but would crafty tubbs give lewis a little trouble like bowe?????....prime lewis vs 1988 tony tubbs..:smoke:smoke
a top inshape in prime condition on one of those nights does have the talent to trouble lewis a little
Tubbs was a sparring partner a handful of times for Lewis. By accounts, quite an erratic one as well...ultimately getting fired during the camp for the Tony Tucker fight, for skipping camp to go buy drugs. I think Tubbs these days would be a great asset to any sparring camp. Man knows all the tricks.
Tubbs was a very good boxer. The man had tons of skill. The only losses in his prime were to Tim Witherspoon (very close 15-rounds) and PRIME Mike Tyson (Mike at his absolute peak KO'd him). And he was already on the decline through cocaine addiction when he lost a hotly disputed 10-round decision to a young and in-shape Riddick Bowe. Tubbs has a great record. I thought he was a tremendous boxer, even while he was overweight. Of course he stands a good chance of bothering Lennox Lewis.
