I think a prime Lewis would win but it would still be a very tought fight. Vitali was one tough hombre with an excellent chin and punch. That said, I still give Lewis the edge in most departments. Lewis by close decision or possibly again by TKO on cuts.

    that's the quitali fanboy excuse.

"he was winning before he lost, so it doesn't count"

    :rofl

i think the de la fishnet fanboys should follow suit and say "oscar was winning before he got tired in round 8"

He couldn't even beat a 38 year old, undertrained, inactive for a year lummox lewis.

how's he gonna beat a prime lewis?

but he won't be lucky enough to have an undertrained, old, inactive for a year lummox in front of him who lost to rahman the last time he showed up for a fight underprepared.

    and?

does beating a mike tyson (14 years past his peak) mean that lewis was not 37-38, inactive for a year, and undertrained when he beat vitali?

well, even vitali said lewis wasn't in good shape.

if a fighter trains hard for a fight and makes a ton of money and gets exposure a la the tyson fight, then he's MORE likely to slack off as he loses some hunger.

I'm sure Lennox **** his pants at the thought of facing the man that knocked out the granite chinned legend that was Herbie Hide.
I love the look on Vitali's face in that clip, it's like he couldn't believe how rubbish Hide was, with his flailing arm "milling" tactics.

I think Lewis knew he couldn't beat Tyson, Bruno, Holyfield, Tua, or Briggs either.
