Is that why Vitali walked away from a rematch with Charr?

I went to the Mavrovic fight.. Lewis was a bit off with timing etc, but Zeiljko fought hard and pushed a good champion to the wire,,, Mavrovic was never a cruiserweight, he boxed always around 220 up.. He is actually 6 foot 5 in honesty.. It was a frustrating fight to watch at times but at no time did the Croatian look out of his depth... Zeiljko is not a better fighter than Vitali, he is a different fighter... Lewis can't handle a safety first counter puncher too good, he boxed Klitschko differently ... Zeljko was never a bum.. He beat a lot of very credible fighters on the way to his title shot...

    Lewis hit Mavrovic with bombs.

Mohawk just had a great chin, he wasn't carried.

Mavoric was only 214 pounds when he fought Lennox who weight close to 250 that night .

He held his own against Lennox and made him struggle .

Goes to show you , a massive weight advantage over your opponent sometimes don't mean a damn thing .

He still lost. Maybe because of size disadvantage :!:

Mavoric did a lot better against a prime Lewis than a peak Vitali did..........

Lewis went full distance with Mavrovic, Billups and shot Ocasio, yes.

But he also KO'd Ruddock in 2, Golota in 1, Botha in 2 and much more other KO's.

Every boxer has his ups and downs.

    Mavrovic was no bum!

Maybe LL underestimated him a bit, but ZM was a tough cookie.

Mavrovic was a very mediocre fighter with a padded record. He was slow, uncoordinated, no jab, no defense. Only redeeming quality was his ability to take a punch. He was a smaller, sickly poor man's Mariusz Wach. His success only came because Lennox performed so poorly(the later claimed he had been in a sauna room for too long and had become dehydrated). You are right that Mavrovic had some illnesses leading into the fight that had him out of action for almost a year and would send him soon into a premature retirement.
He would've lost, in most cases decisively, to just about every fighter you mentioned. The younger Klit would've beaten him quite easily in my estimation, most likely pitching a shutout and then most would say he just beat up some eurobum(rightfully so). He certainly wouldn't have had to take anywhere remotely close to the ridiculously high 44% connect rate that Mohawk landed on Lennox.
