As slightly faded lewis won his war with a prime vitali klitschko.

Now this is a boxer-puncher-mover showing tremendous heart and an ability to adapt by going to war and taking it to vitali. This is a 38 year old man who had twice been knocked out and was fast losing motivation. Ofcourse we'll never know but i'd favour a younger prime lewis to be just as victorious.

His last fight was in May 2003, when did he retire? February 2004. He only quit when he couldn't get around the rematch with Vitali..........

Lewis was behind on the cards as we all know at the time of the stoppage, but he often did start slowly.
He was actually losing against bruno when the fight was stopped, he also lost the opening rounds in the shannon briggs fight.
It would only have taken a knock down in the next round, had the fight continued to even the score card.

lewis at his worst beat vitali at his best

Stop over doing it. Lewis was 37 first of all. Younger than Vitali is right now.

Second, it was a GREEN Vitali not a prime Vitali. Vitali became a much better fighter after he fought Lewis. He opened himself up much more as a fighter and began fighting with a completely different confidence after that performance. Vitali may not have been very young in age, but he was completely inexperienced in big fights. Lewis' big fight experience far outweighed the age gap. Lewis had already shown to be fighting at his best, just as Vitali and Wlad both also matured and became greater fighters later in their 30's.

I reckon it would be a damn good fight....Could probally go either way depending on what kind of a night either one was having.

What's his age in comparison with vitali now got to do with anything?

Nah vitali that night was a monster and it would take a great fighter to beat him, unlucky for vitali that's exactly who he was up against.

As I said before this was about as close as we'd get to seeing them in their primes. If they fight sooner prime lewis dominates green vitali. If they fight later shot lewis gets dominated by prime vitali.

Their primes never quite overlapped and that's a shame but i'm just thankful we got see a great war were both men came out as winners. A legend went out on top and an heir apparent was born.

    Fantastic boxing story.

A good bit of common sense, thank god. If an older Lewis can tko Vitali what was the point of asking how a prime Lewis would do is there, stupid question.
