Interesting fight but i think Tyson would take him, Lewis struggled on occasions with boxers pressurising and attacking him, Bruno ran him close, briggs had him hurt as did Mercer. A prime tyson would be much more hurtful and ferocious than any of the boxers above.
Lennox frustrates Tyson as all decent boxers did and KO's him late in my opinion. I also heard that Lennox sparred with Tyson a few times and Lennox beat Tyson up in their younger days. Might explain why Tyson paid Lewis off to step aside when he was closer to his prime
Tyson by 5th round KO. He was too fast, explosive, and too good to be denied landing a big shot against Lewis in his prime, and IMO, Lewis did not have the chin to stand up to it.
Tough one to call. But I think Tyson's speed and relentless pressure would be the difference. The Tyson of 86-88 was infinitely a better, more complete fighter than he was against Holyfield let alone Lewis. Tyson's boxing ability is underrated - the slipping of punches, the head movement - as is his varied punch output. Lewis was special too but he never beat anyone of the calibre of a peak Tyson. Lennox got Holyfield when he was ancient and still struggled in parts of the second fight. Lennox was losing against Vitali when that cut saved him. And Lewis took 8 rounds to beat up on a spent Tyson. I say the most likely outcomes are Tyson via KO inside 6 rounds or a split decision win for Mike (I admit if it goes the distance it will be close).
That's one thing about the "Tyson Era", the best didn't really fight each other at their peaks with the exception of Holyfield and Bowe. There were many good potential matches that just never materialized.
