Did you watch that fight? First of all... that isn't even a Prime Wlad. If you can't tell the difference between Wlad then, and Wlad now, then I don't know what to tell you.

Second... if you watched the fight, you would know that Wlad actually chased Sanders around the ring. This myth that Sanders just went in there and bumrushed him is ******ed. Sanders was moving away from Wlad with his back along the ropes. Wlad got lazy backing away, and Sanders leaped in with a huge signature left hand. Wlad was buzzed by the shot, and was at a point in his career where he had no idea what to do when caught like that. He tried to fight his way out of trouble and simply had no clue how to deal with the adversity... as it isn't like he had a lot in his career up to that point. It was only AFTER Sanders caught him and stunned him that he went after him. Several flush shots later, Wlad goes down the first time... from there on it's history.

Points being... Wlad isn't that fighter anymore. Sanders didn't just come in swinging like a maniac at the bell. Wlad was pursuing Sanders and got sloppy when backing away with his hands down. Wlad now handles himself much better in the ring, and also has shown since then that not only can he overcome adversity, but he also knows what to do when stunned... hurt... or simply when the other fighter attacks.

You guys need to get your heads out of your asses and realize that this isn't 6 ****in' years ago.

Sorry, but no. I find it more believable that Wlad just hasn't fought anyone as decent of a puncher/boxer as Corrie "I Train on Beer And Donuts" Sanders in 6 years. If the division wasn't such a wasteland of mediocrity you would be seeing that his fighting deficiencies are deep and unalterable.

He hasn't had (m)any recent panic attack moments because the level of competition has been horrible and pathetic. Wlad has great size and he has decent skills. He isn't going to wimp out or lose his form against just any "C" level opponent.

It is comparable to watching JC in a tight battle with a prime Kessler looking very skilled and adaptive against MK due to MK's relative abilities. Then, you watch Joe five months later against a 43-year old way past peak ATG and Joe looks like his technique is simplistic and amateurish and his athleticism and anticipatory skills merely average (thank goodness for that advantage in stamina being seven years the younger man in the ring). It is who you are fighting that can make you appear to be improved.

Until Wlad faces a large heavyweight with a pulse and demonstrates improvement under real fire, he likely hasn't substantively changed anything at all.

Until then .. all-time heavyweight rankings:

This kind of statement makes me believe you're a hater. Where was Wlad ever scared of Brewster? For 4 1/2 rounds he just dominated him, and then just got tired. I didnt see anything that showed that he was afraid, he was tired and couldnt stand but by no means he was afraid:nono

    Bailed out? :rofl:rofl:rofl
Did you see the rest of the round? After the knockdown he just went toe to toe with him. TOS tought that he could end the fight but Wlad was fighting not just boxing but going to war. Except for the knockdown, Wlad was dominating the whole fight including the 5th. Even the judges gave that Round 10-9 for TOS not 10-8, whay usually happens because Wlad just dominated TOS in that round

Well, dont you think Lennox knows better than you? Ask him and he will say he is British.

Being born in London and living there until he was 12 counts for something deosn't it?

Like he walked over Mavrovich? Oh wait he didn't walk over Mavrovich, instead it was a 12 round hugfest.

Some of the replies to this thread are priceless. Wladimir Klitschko is not as tough as Mavrovich and apparently is the same level fighter as Michael Grant. The funniest part is these idiots actually think they are giving an objective opinion.

Yeah true enough, but it always raises a laugh whenever it comes up doesn't it :hey

By the same token it always amuses me when the huggers say WALDO would easily beat Bruno, that's just as dumb a statement.

That's because he has been proven to have poor punch resistance. Whereas Mavrovic, or grandma for that matter, haven't. If you think Wlad is going to take Lewis' punch then you're lying to yourself.
