Lewis by KO. People gotta understand Lewis beat the superior Klitzxhko when he was at his worst shape. Lewis is faster, stronger, more accurate, and smarter in general. This translate to both brothers knocked out by the superior man.
I think it's a closer fight with both fighters being hesitant to open up. That being said I think Lewis catches him late when they're both tired. Can't stand Lewis, but, he's massively underrated.
Wlad has a better everything except uppercuts, body punching, and combinations in the ~5 punch range. Again, aside from that, Wlad has a better EVERYTHING.
Yeah because Lennox had no jab didnt he??? Its different levels man , Wlad is a good boxer but not great.
Smarter? I hope you are referring to "ring smart"-and I'm not sure about that Actually, Wlad could have taken Lennox out with a single punch, Vitali wears him down via UD every-time if he doesn't have the cut issue.
Lewis would jump on Wlad like he did every big man and bomb Wlad out early. Wlad's very good and in some ways better than Lewis. I think he's a little faster, has better balance, and a straighter right hand. Lewis had better lateral movement, bigger reach, better jab, and of course far superior on the inside with a huge uppercut. Wlad would find himself against a man similar in size and strength who could get to him and if he clinched would find himself unable to subdue him and prevent him from working in close. Look at the first Thompson fight, Thompson gets in close without much difficulty and Wlad is forced to clinch a lot in the early rounds but finds the similar sized Thompson is able to work on the inside, especially to the body. Wlad has to alter his tactics and becomes more aggressive throwing more punches to keep Thompson at bay. Lewis would do the same only when Wlad throws more to try and keep him away Lewis get's to him and stop him.
I dont know it comes down to who is better at fighting other big men. Wlad has more experience with other tall fighters than Lewis.
I really was hoping this fight happened back in 02-03. I thought then and still think now that Wladimir would have hit Lewis harder and faster than he ever was. Wlad WOULDN'T have been underestimating Lewis like I believe he was a little bit against Sanders. We would have saw a VERY prepared and ready Wlad. Those right hands Vitali was able to rock Lewis with... Whatcha think Wlads would have done to him??:dead It would have been a different type of fight than the Vitali fight. Wlad would have used his quicker feet, fired more jabs and left hooks, and eventually set up bomb right hands that would've been a good amount harder than Vitali's. And it would have not taken long to see him get off with those punches because he would know he had to with Lewis most likely being aggressive. As far as "quicker KO than Grant or Golota" that's just a joke of a comment. Wlad was way better than both. One shot from Wlad could've ended Lewis just like Rahman did. "Look what Sanders did to him!" Some people love to point to that. Sanders was a SOUTHPAW with faster hands than Lewis. Much different type of fighter. And you really think Wlad would go into a fight with Lewis with the same attitude that he most likely had with Sanders? No. If people wanna think Lewis would beat Wlad than that's their right. But to point to the Sanders fight as some sort of proof as to what would have happened is foolish. And just as bad, is pointing to the GOLATA and GRANT fights! Lol Paaleasse! IMO Wlad KO's or TKO's Lewis midway through in an exciting fight. Lewis would have his moments but Wlad gets to him
Who's corner would Stewart be in? Worst and most boring clinch fest in history. Did Lewis ever fight anyone who could match his jab, I know he was past prime, but at times Vitali jabbed him with ease. Don't compare the Lewis that charged Goltta, Grant and Briggs. Wlad's is big and strong and now much more cautious. Dud fight
Eh kind of fight entertainment wise, the main source of interest is that each man hits hard enough and is skilled enough to knock out the other. Still, we're probably looking at a distance fight. If it's a jabbing and range boxing contest I'd give a slight edge to Wlad, though I like Lennoxs uppercut on the inside. The bigger variable is Steward. Whoever has Manny probably takes it.
