Not according to Angelo Dundee who said that Vitali was cheated out of the WBC title that night. Dundee was one of the best cut men in boxing history, not to mention that he trained Ali and Leonard, plus others................Who was staggered? Wasn't Vitali, it was Lewis. Who was sitting right behind Lewis' corner? Yes, a Klitschko hater, yet Max said he had never seen Lewis flop down on his stool like that, Lewis was done for. Anyone ever talk about Lewis badly broken nose? I think that did not help Lewis' stamina at all. Vitali has never ran out of gas, but Lewis sure has.............Steward did say that Vlad has more talent than Lewis, check out the footwork of both for yourself....... This content is protected
technically, lewis was clearly the better fighter, and he got himself back into that fight really well after getting pasted for the first two rounds lewis seemed to be in the ascendancy, but that doesn't mean a whole lot in a fight like that. the only thing I am confident of is that the fight wouldn't have gone 12 rounds if it was allowed to continue
Angela Dundee huh? He was the guy that was happy to see an obviously affected Ali take punches from opponents many years after he should have been retired. And he was also the guy in Pinklon Thomas' corner that said "**** off and leave this man alone" when the doctor went to check on Thomas between rounds during the Tyson fight. 30 seconds or so into the next round Thomas was a mess on the canvas
Farmboxer...got any cut and paste articles titled 'Lennox Lewis has glass shards embedded in his gloved'? (so did Clay against Cooper) :silly
Wlad would be so scared he wouldn't throw a punch. You can't compare Wlad to Lewis because Wlad has such crap opposition. We also know Waldo really really can't take a punch. There's only one conclusion and that is Lennox crushes Klity like a grape.
you have no idea what a big thing it was for wlad to redefine himself after the sanders demolition not just that, but choosing to fight sam peter in his comeback... I agree lewis would KO wlad, but the way you've posted this doesn't say much about your own fight history, does it?
Lewis was closer to half a fighter while Wlad K. is closer to a whole fighter meaning: Klitschko could move to the left better than Lewis. Lewis would not be able to cut off the ring going to the left and Klitschko would force him to throw left hooks which would play into Lewis' weakness and Lewis would not have the height and size advantage over Klitschko to overcome this flaw. It would be like the Michael Grant fight in the respect that Lewis' opponent would land a very good right on Lewis chin coming over Lewis' left hook ( Grant did actually land a decent right hand on Lewis, scaring Lewis enough to hold and hit ) but Klitschko is capable of landing a left hook immediately following the right hand. Also McCall, when he wasn't having a nervous breakdown, landed a decent right hand on Lewis, Rahman landed a decent right hand on Lewis, Mavrovic landed a decent right hand on Lewis. I have not seen anything that makes me think Lewis can use a left hook the way Klitschko did vs Ray Austin.
Lewis by brutal early ko. afterwards ESB users are left in shock , realizing their great White hope, was a bust...
LOL! Dumb post of the day!:good Great White Hope?? You're still living in the 80's and 90's their homeboy 16 title defenses and counting. Enjoy the next 5-6 years and the breaking of Joe Louis record:nutcase:bush:bush:smh
Promoter? No he wasn't. Lewis tried desperately to ACT as some kind of adviser/promoter but he wasn't his actual promoter for the Vitali fight. Just giving Sanders tips again also. But that time it didn't work so well "Eh, well we know each other."- Sanders when asked by Larry Merchant if he was friends enough with Lennox that he'd call him before the Wlad fight. He said it in a way like they weren't friends but were just familiar with each other. Even Merchant was a bit surprised that Lewis called him.
