His competition wasn't worse than Holmes', Louis' or Tyson's in the 80's for example.

Wlad when he fights tight defence, he does NOT get hit, he has had many rounds where a punch has not landed on him. His defensive reflexes are much better then lewis.

Also, Wladimir has more experience and fought a lot more fights.

Wlad does an great job at controlling and maintaining distance while still applying offence because of his fantastic job. Wlad made top athletic fighters like Haye continually have to reset because Wlad matched him step for step.

Vitali was beating Lewis quite comfortably and Vitali can't punch as hard as Wlad. If Wlad fought aggressive he would land first and there's a strong Lewis would be taking a nap like he did against Mccall and Rahman. Remember, Lewis never got up from KD to win a fight and Wladimir did it many times.

Yes he does. Ajs power is overrated and he dropped wlad twice. Why are we acting like young wlad dies to aj ? Wlad just got hit less later on because he was better at controlling range and timing. His chin didn't get better. Your chin doesn't get better unless you can see the shots better or you put on mass it's not how the human body works

I disagree. Wlad got dropped heavily by Sanders who quite frankly, hit harder than Joshua and was sneakier with his power shots too. I actually think it’s impressive that Wlad didn’t actually go OUT for a 10-count in that fight. Also Wlad to some NASTY shots from prime Sam Peter and didn’t go anywhere. The shots that put him down in that fight were rabbit punches. Chagaev connected with an absolute missile at the bell against Wlad too.

No Wladimir’s punch resistance was probably a little bit diminished if anything against joshua. Also his reflexes. I’d wager that 2009-2013 Wlad doesn’t go down in that 5th round. Gets rattled and starts to tie up joshua yes. But he stays upright and then gets a bit of a scolding from Manny in the corner.

“Ladamir ya GOT to let your left hook go more and start getting busier with your right!! He’s there for it. Take it to him!! You’ll get him out of here!!”

Perhaps your both right. He just seemed to panic so much less when AJ threw that barrages at him that landed flush were as against Purrity Brewster Sanders he tightened up. Could be he was better at seeing the shots and therefore his body prepared to take them better combined with better pacing.

It's hard to say anyway Wlad wasn't getting hit too often with big shots 2006-2014 anyway maybe he could have taken them better we don't really know.

Colour me surprised that someone brings up TKO6 as if a damn near shot Lewis beating a prime version of the worse of the two Klit brothers therefore means the better one annihilates a prime Lewis...

Heck, simplify it down and what looks worse - nearly shot Lewis beating prime Vitali or nearly shot Wlad losing to Fury and Joshua? (And that's only when it's not simultaneously convenient to say Wlad was still prime for Fury ;))

Lennox could make mistakes, his chin was decent but not unbreakable - guys with decent power had a punchers chance... But the rematches showed that was about it.

These guys are both legit ATG's who'd give the vast majority of fighters fits throughout boxing history - which means it's silly to think it'd be a blowout either way - but I'd give Lewis a solid 60/40 on it, personally.

This is a respectable post. This I have NO problem with. It’s when idiots like Haye (Though we already know what that’s about) scoffs at the idea of Wladimir in his prime even being competitive with Lewis. And other usual suspects trying to say dumb **** like “OHH leWis absOLuteLY blASTs WlaD ouT in a ROund maYbe tWO liKe hE diD Golota!” THAT’S where it just gets stupid to me.

But favoring one guy over the other while admitting the other one has a legit shot at getting the other out of there is reasonable. ESPECIALLY with these two.

I even think it’s safe to say both of these guys would be facing the best fighter they’ve each faced ever in their careers. ESPECIALLY lewis. He never went up against someone with a combo of Wlad’s power, hand speed, reach, speed of foot and jab. Bruno, ruddock, amateurs bowe, Golota etc aren’t anywhere close to Prime Wlad.

Now I know the same can be said for Wlad. BUT… keep in mind Wlad did have his brother to work with and even spar if need be. Vitali is about as formidable of a big man as it got. So Lewis wouldn’t be too much of a shock to Wlad when they face off.

Vitali doesn't have short combinations punches in the inside like Lewis, uppercuts are bad for Wlad and they are 2 completely different fighters.
