I see Holyfield edging out a decision. His heart and powers of recovery will overcome Liston's onslaught. I see Holyfield soaking up Liston's best attacks and countering his way to decision visctory.

I see lots of outcomes here. Holy vs decision, Liston via TKO, Holy via DQ/TKO if Liston intangibles come into play. Holy could not stand and trade with Liston. He would need to fight him the way he fought Bowe the 2nd time or Tyson.

I think Holyfield get dragged into deep waters to much to win this one. Additionally, he may not be able to outbox Liston.

Does Liston have the same access to steroids? Serious Q

I think Holyfield's speed, technique and workrate would cause Liston the same problems it did for Bowe and vice versa with the size/power of Liston.

This would be a great fight, hard to pick too. First thing I thought was Holy takes a decision by darting in and out, losing the rounds in which he decides to trade on he inside, close but clear decision. Then I realised that I'd forgotten about that jab. I can't pick a winner in this one but I do think it'd go the distance.

Sonny by KO. I don't see any way Holy wins this.

I'm betting my money on Sonny.

Although I am the minority, I'm going to pick peak Holyfield by KO, in a contest between both of these men at their perspective bests. The one thing that these two have in common in my opinion is that their finest moments came pre-title reign when both were cleaning out the division and regularly destroying top contenders. For Liston, this period was around 1959-1961. For Holy, it came circa 1988-1990. The problem I have with Liston is that I was never convinced that he'd do well against fighters who had the abilty to stand up to him and Holyfield could do that and then some. At 6'2", 210 Lbs and firmly built, he was a bigger and probably stronger heavyweight than Liston, and who also happened to be well accustomed to facing men who were much bigger than himself. Liston may have had two or three Lbs on him during his prime, but Evander was clearly a bigger and more muscular guy. Holyfield's battles against the likes of men like Mike Dokes and Riddick Bowe are hard fought performances that I simply do not see Liston as being able to bully Evander in.

    Holyfield KO 9.

Hi, i'm new on this forum, sorry for my english.
I think that Holyfield's speed and agility can beat Liston, who had exactly a power, but Holyfield was faster than Sonny.
I believe that Holyfield by points, maybe UD.
