There is no way you genuinely believe Shakur vs 36 y/o Rigo at 130 is a 50/50 fight. Shakur would clown him even worse than he did Haney in sparring. This would not be a competitive fight
I’m guessing the 99 in your name is your birth year, I don’t think you understand how skilled Rigo was. He was very similar to Shakur, they fight almost exactly the same and they are the top 2 ever when it comes to balance and poise. They both have the probing lead hand and supreme control of distance, seeing absolutely every punch. Thinking about it, I do favour Rigo because of the power and the left to the body.
Stevenson has done nothing to favour him over Loma. But having said that if Stevenson can remain focused on boxing and not distracted by the trappings of success, I believe Stevenson will go on to have the better career. I've been saying Stevenson is a future top P4P fighter for some time now and tonight was simply another confirmation of that belief. So while Loma is the obvious pick right now, I predict Stevenson will surpass Loma's accomplishments.
Lomachenko by a solid decision, but every day that passes the pendulum gets closer to swinging the other way. Do it soon or not at all. Also, by next year SS won't be able to make 130. Looked like a welter to me tonight.
Anybody saying Loma beats Stevenson easily needs to layoff the drugs. Loma actually used Stevenson as a sparring partner for Rigo.
****ing hell some of you posters don't know shite. Loma would make Shakur look like a novice. The only thing Shakur has on him is size, and even then he's no big puncher
The top 2 ever when it comes to balance and poise? What cannot be disputed though is Rigo did see every punch Loma threw right after it bounced off his noggin.
Stevenson is a difficult out for anyone, particularly when he adopts a more defensive approach and avoids unnecessary exchanges. That said, even the current version of Loma can compete with Stevenson athletically, one of the few in and around the weight who can, but he's busier, hits harder, and brings infinitely more experience to the table. Loma by competitive decision or possibly late stoppage.
