Marquez is one of the best technical fighters that we have today, but I've always said that his balance isn't on par with Floyd's and Hopkins balance. He's always been vulnerable to getting floored by flash punches because of his stance and the way he positions his upper body while he's side-stepping and circling.

Floyd can plant his feet and land his right hand before Manny side steps. How? By punching with him, the oldest weapon against southpaws.

Floyd is the better fighter, I mean it's as simple as that. Manny has a chance to land a big punch but I don't know that Manny brings anything to the table that Prime Floyd hasn't seen. On the flip, prime Floyd brings elements that Manny hasn't overcome. The speed, and ring IQ would be too much for Manny, his punch output would drop, Floyd would start getting off first, and eventually chew him up.

Yeah, that's the other GIF I was looking for. But that's something JMM does far more often than Floyd, especially when you put a feint behind it. Ortiz was too square and predictable.

Marquez caught him with a right hand as Manny pulled out of the side, but the side-step takes so much steam off of it. Ortiz had very little lateral movement. I'm not sure why Danny Garcia told him to intentionally aim at the shoulder.

Manny did a similar move against Mosley. He did it quicker and caught Shane, but Shane still caught him with a short right hand while Manny was side-stepping out.

    Just finished the entire video.

Mosley makes manny pay for lunging in at the 1:38 you mentioned. manny's tendency to square himself after lunging with a straight was exploited.

Shane has success with the head control and clinching spoiling techniques, techniques that Floyd is very familiar with. manny's habitual lunging allowed Shane to smother him then go in for the head control. That was some classic how to box tall 101. When Shane was on the offensive, he would clinch after throwing.

right hand to the body all night. Mosley made manny weary of it. It's a major punch for Floyd versus nearly all southpaw.

head to head Floyd could beat him, but Manny is greater.

Floyd doesnt fight dangerous opponents in there prime.

But Paccy would rip him up. Hes wrong for Floyd - amazing offense, combinations, southpaw, blinding speed, power in both hands, endless stamina, rock solid chin, ton of heart, relentless.

Floyd doesnt have the balls to deal with that.. and Floyd fought like a scared deer back in their primes.
