paul was gettin whooped, but it was good for him that he's able to have that great work rate, which i think is the reason he got the nod

All those who said Marg would beat Floyd is seriously smoking something and I doubt it's weed. Marg has a good chin, but it's not like Floyd would of ran out of gas from tapping that chin of his. Floyd would of and still would box the hell out of Margarito. You would be a fool to think otherwise.

 

The Mayweather that was beating the likes of Judah and Baldomir was not filled in to the WW division fully. Even when he stepped up to face Oscar, and even in the Hatton bout...he was not a fully fledged WW. Margarito has always been a big WW. Around this time period, Margarito could possibly have a shot at upsetting Mayweather with his relentless pressure. But could he pin him down? Mayweather is not Cotto, he would not be trapped against the ropes, or in the corner without clinching. Mayweather may not have the power to properly deter Margarito, but he would make him miss BADLY and hit him very cleanly.

Mayweather would make him look amateurish for very long periods, any version of Margarito you put in front of him. But yeah, interesting bout around the time period I mentioned.
