Martinez from the Paul Williams fight

A fight that frankly I've never seen talked about much for some reason.. I think it would have been pretty interesting, how do you think this one would have went down?

P.S just to be clear, the fight would take place at the full 160 limit.

    Which Williams fight?

Either way, I think prime Martinez by UD. Would actually be a nice fight to see, the movement of these 2 guys would be spectacular, if not an action packed fight.

The second one of course, I think that's what most people would consider his absolute peak.

Martinez would outwork an overcautious Lara to a decision. Lara's defensive wizardry would be overwhelmed by a fighter who's an even bigger mover than himself. Lara might even be knocked down because Martinez always had good power. However, as always Martinez' awkward style means that he might get hit while off-balance and go down himself. Depending on the game plan, Lara might capitalize on Martinez' hands around his waist lack of defense and score frequently, but I still picture Martinez bullying Lara to the ropes and scoring more.

The funny thing about these two is that they've both had some of the hardest luck in boxing when it comes to the judges, and had several robberies go against them. Makes you wonder if their own fight wouldn't result in a maddening controversial decision.

The one vote for Lara comes from me, I actually think the stylistic edge lies with Lara here, I think Martinez is an awesome fighter but technically, I've always thought he's got some holes for which Lara would be just the fighter to exploit.

I think facing a boxer as good as Lara would leave him a bit perplexed, and I see Lara outboxing him quite reasonably.

I will say though with Martinez's speed and power and Lara's questionable chin, there's all the likelihood of a KO as well and I think he'd give Lara a few scares.

I always thought the Martinez from the Dzinruzuk fight was his absolute prime. We only saw a few mins of action against Williams 2. Unless you mean 1. I like Lara but he would be outmatched here. A prime Martinez was extremely mobile and hit like a truck as well. Hand speed was blinding. Lara has never seen anything of that calibre, a 160 freak athlete with freakish speed. I would go Martinez KO.

Lara is damn good, but Martinez was a scary ass brother in his prime. Ain't many in the history at 160 that can mess with that brother. Not even GGG

Has Martinez seen a boxer of Lara's calibre though? I think not. And speed wise, let's not forget, Lara's fast as hell too.

Either Lara by UD, or Maravilla by highlight reel KO.
But as much as I like Martinez, I guess it's 60/40 in Lara's favor.

    Martinez by KO without hesitation.
