Too tough a fight to call. Depends on the number of rounds. If it was 12 then I reckon RJJ wins a split decision if it's 15 then Hagler stops him.
I agree, this is a difficult fight to predict. It is amazing that some people here think that this an easy fight for Jones. One thing is sure, nobody beats Hagler easy.
Roy's best was at 168, where he stepped in the ring at roughly 175 pounds and still was incredibly fast and powerful. That version is too big and fast for Hagler. The only time he actually weighed around 160 probably was when he fought at 154 and was green. Hagler should be favored to beat that version of Jones.
Jones would squirm a decision over 12. Over 15 Hagler would have a bit too much stamina and would therefore make it closer
hagler old or not... couldnt cope agianst leonard at 160 ... he gets blitzed if you throw that speed in with amazing reflexes and sheer bone crunching power ... jones jr at 160 was like leonard on speed
After much thought, I go with Jones Jr to beat Hagler on points. I would prefer to see Monzon v Hagler at 160.
I love Marvin one of my all time favorites but I agree. Jones at 160 and 168 was a god with gloves and the best H2H boxer of all time and a stylistic nightmare for any boxer in history.:deal
Good analyases. Agree with almost all, though I think RJJ would beat decision Hagler regardless of weightclass. Hardly an easy fight, though
