Prime mayorga vs cotto at 147

Mayorga would have opened a can of whoop ass on cotto at 147. A prime mayorga would have ended his career pretty much. The fight would look like Cotto/Torres except mayorga would finish the job brutally.

:huh can't really remember Mayorga's prime so well, but from what I do remember I think Ricardo knocks Cotto out, terrible match up for Miguel.

 

I've a question - apart from the Forrest fights, what do people consider Prime Mayorga?

 

Obviously whomever thinks Mayo could beat cotto is out of their minds Mayo is a has been he has nothing left he,s a journeyman at this late stage in his so called career.

mayorgas style would be hes downfall even in his prime we must not forget the problems orrest had in his 2 fights with mayo. cotto would capitalize in that and punish a slugger every time he missed wich is often. some in this thread say that mayo's never been hit to the body jum i guess u really didnt watch the tito fight lol. tito ripped that ribcage, i heard he couldnt smoke 4 a few weeks hahaha. joking aside cotto would really outclass mayo anyday really even with his so called "glass chin"?? and "poor defense"??, wtv. i see a tko i seven rounds or lees due to accumulated punches to the body and head wobbling punches. latr

 

Mayorga has faced way better punchers in his prime so there is no doubt that he would take Cotto's best punch.

I take you've never seen Mayorga fight at 147..He has a very akward style that would trouble Cotto.

 

im sorry to dissapoint u but i have seen him fight at 147 and im unimpressed, i do admit he is an awesome puncher but besides that, nothing else. everybody always has a punchers chance but cotto will be too much for him. i mean he fought a tito who stood in front of him and well sometimes couldnt even hit him really depressing. not to diss on my man tito hes awesome but we all hav to admit dat titos laterall movement is not the best cottos cuts the rings a hundred times better then tito. mayo:smoke would tire by just trying to follow cotto while cotto is busting him up.:nut

 

Its all good man...thats what this board is for is to discuss points...The reason I feel mayorga will be to much is because Cotto tend to kinda fold under pressure...Mayorga, with that akward ass style, will try to impose his will and swing for the fences...Cotto isnt really known to have a sturdy chin so I think Mayorga will eventually catch up to him..If a limited fighter in Margorito was able to break Cotto down, there is no doubt that Mayorga will have success.

 

Ima take Cotto on points..I think a prime mayorga might get lucky and land something flush to Cottos chin but I'd favor Cotto cuz he is a far superior boxer and he is tough on the inside...I know Cotto gets wobbled easy but he also knows how to box and move..if he don't get caught than Cotto around 8-4

 

everybody is entiteld to their own decision i respect yours to bad well never see it happen but what do u think about a Prime Margo(without hand wraps) vs. a Prime Mayo?? that would be a fun fight to watch to akward styles to sturdy chins and punchers ?:bbb
