Damn! I miss Mayorga, man. Just watched his fights earlier and he was a damn beast at 147. How does he fair with current Maidana?

Doesn't matter one bit who's more technical in this one. Neither was overly technical in any case. But Mayorga's best victories over Forest far outshine anything Maidana has ever come close to doing.

Mayorga was a big strong WW. A hungry Mayorga beats most of todays WW.

If Mayorga was fighting the same flatfooted Mayweather in the first Maidana fight, I think Mayorga would win clean.

Keep in mind.... if Mayorga was fighting Maidana, means the fights at 147. Mayorga has only lost to spinks, some would say controversialy, at welterweight. His foray into the heavier weights came from the desire to not make 147 and the lure of huge paydays. He never truly outgrew welter, and it was by far his most effective weight. He never carried 154 or middle as well, imo

Anyways, since this fight is at welter, I am going to go with Mayorga by KO. Welterweight Mayorga could fight hard all 12 rounds... and really was a rampaging bull with underrated everything there. Anyone thinking otherwise should go rewatch his fights against lewis forrest and spinks.

I think he would simply have too much of everything for Maidana

This would be a war and in that kind of fight I go with the guy with the better punch and better chin....

    Mayorga KO 10

    The fans would win.

And so would Mayorga. Harder hitter, better chin, more skill, similar styles.

    Mayorga would stop Maidana.

A lot of people forget Mayorga was actually undisputed welter champ. Even Floyd cant say that!

Mayorga Pacquiao would be interesting. Id like to think Mayorga would be too much for Pacquiao. He never stopped punching and go go all fight.

Mayorga. He had an extremely good chin at WW and monster power. He'd eat Maidana's best punches, ask for more, then knock him out.

Maidana has displayed a tendency to get hurt in the body as well as tire out on the later rounds. Mayorga on his best days had an iron chin and we've never seen him get tired nor get really hurt

Mayorga wins, Mayorga is a Maidana but stronger and with better chin, power and insane stamina for a smoking guy.
