Why do people hold that fight in such high regard?

Stop USING that fight as a reference to how utterly great he is and how utterly **** Pac/May are

The only reason he won was because Ray let himself get psychologically handled that fight.

Ray didn't come prepared and got OWNED mentally instead of physically.

The second fight Ray tooled his ass and made him quit half way. Ray is a much better fighter than Duran is, although lower on the ATG list because of resume/longevity.

Ive seen plenty of Duran fights, thank you very much.

That guy who picked Pac at 147 likely doesn't even know Carlos Palomino is though.

Palomino was better than Cotto.

Duran beat the living ****in **** outta Palomino, but Carlos lasted only because it was only a 10 rounder.

15 rounder and Palomino would have gotten stopped.

 

Do you think a 2009 Pacquiao would beat Palomino at his best? I'm right there with you that Palomino was better than Cotto. Physically stronger, more durable, a solid technician in his own right, and a more brutal body-puncher than the welterweight Cotto. I think he'd stand a really good chance of grinding Pacquiao down. Even a 2009 Pacquiao I'm not that high on head-to-head at welterweight. Zombie De La Hoya, Cotto, and Clottey are far from notable historically at the weight. And although he beat the hell out of Margarito, he did get hurt to the body and took a good amount of hard shots/punishment.

The Chavez that beat Rosario would soundly beat Floyd at 135. Check out BOTH Castillo fights, and replace Castillo with Chavez, and try to explain to me how Floyd wins.

135 was Floyd's worst weight, and Chavez's best.

At 140, it's a different story.
