Prime Meldrick Taylor V Floyd Mayweather: WHo wins and who was faster?

Taylor had much faster hands. Although Mayweather is the better technician, I don't see him beating 1988-90 Meldrick at 140. Floyd would lose too many exchanges, and become negative. It'd be close though, and I'm sure they'd split a trilogy or something like that.

 

I'd favour Floyd in a fight, although Taylor had faster hands in combination. I don't think Floyd would try to exchange too many. He'd counter the hell out of Taylor with stronger shots, although he'd probably be taking more punches than usual, I doubt most of them would have any real effect. Wouldn't surprise me to see Taylor rocked on occasion down the stretch, either. I just think Floyd would be landing a lot cleaner.

 

Not sure who's faster probably Meldrick but his flurrying makes him seem faster than he is somewhat, Floyd wins because Taylor lacks the defence and technical skills

 

Taylor had fast feet as well IMO, doesn't get credit for some quick directional changes. I think he could outspeed PBF, but could he hurt him? Interesting either way.

 

Nightmare match-up for Mayweather, no way can he dictate the rythem or flow of this fight, he's dragged into the trenches, he can't match meldrick for output or speed & has'nt the pop to get Taylor's attention. Meldrick drowns floyd for a wide UD.

 

Floyd's definitely not as fast as Meldrick, but he's a better technician, and would beat him on a UD due to that.
