who takes it fellas and why?

I honestly think Taylor takes b/c this man had so much fire power, it was ridiculous. He took perhaps the most punishment a fighter could ever take from Chavez and lasted till the end, despite the stoppage.

I just dont think FLoyd could keep him off. FLoyd would have to risk opening up too much to match his offensive firepower. This would spell doom b/c taylor was much faster than floyd and was a great combination puncher. I just dont think Floyd would be able to stand up to him.

The lower the weight, the more I'd favor Meldrick Taylor.

The higher the weight, the more Floyd's defensive prowess would leave Taylor flurrying in the dust.

So I'd say anything below 154 is a Taylor victory; above is a Mayweather one.

    Aaahhhh.

Nah, I just thought that last bit was a bit odd. Meldrick was at his best at 140. Floyd was better at 135(if Meldrick did indeed fight there early) and Meldrick never even fought at 130, which was Floyd's best weight. Floyd would beat him at those two weights. I actually think the further up you move the better chance Meldrick has, as Floyd's mobility decreases as he moves up in weight, while Meldrick still showed good handspeed at 154 against Norris.

Either way, this bout should be held at 140, considering it's the closest to both fighters best.

Yeah, that's what I thought was a bit odd. He's acting as if Floyd would fight him at MW or something.

Taylor's offensive firepower? You do realise Taylor couldn't crack an egg right? Taylor wasn't 'much' faster than Mayweather either. In combination yes, he threw faster flurries, but don't discount Floyd's speed which is in the upper echelon to say the least.

I actually see this as being a bit similar to the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight, in which De La Hoya threw flurries of punches and Floyd was able to counter in between. He'd be able to do this all night against Taylor who wasn't a particularly great defensive fighter.

What could possibly do Mayweather in though is Taylor's higher workrate. Mayweather typically only throws 50 or so punches a round whilst it was not unusual for Taylor to get up around the 100 punches a round mark. Maybe through just sheer volume of punches (like against Chavez) he might take over the fight. Its a close fight, but so far Mayweather has found a way to beat every fighter he has faced and I believe he would do so against Taylor

Wow, this Match up has potential. I say Meldrick takes it. They both have great hand speed and feet. Both are great boxers, but Meldrick, IMO put combos better. I really don't know who to say was stronger. in the body shots Floyd is better, but I doubt he'll use it against taylor.

Taylor can take shots, he was destoyed physicaly in that Chavez fight. Broken ribs, optical bones, and pissing blood... he never quit, just kept his lead. Floyd never really had an opponent like the Chavez Taylor faced, so we never seen him have to dig deep down.

Only the Taylor that stepped into the ring against chavez would take Floyd. After that fight Taylor was never the same.

i actually see PBF winning pretty comfortably... i think a better match up is a 147 lb. fight between today's PBF and sweet pea around the time he fought chavez or even the second mcgirt... now that would be sick
