Jones was prime V Calzaghe, he had hunger, he had belief, speed, reflexes, power, he pulled Calzageh up to his natrual weight, he even showed heart in his fight. He went on to destroy Lacy, who gave Taylor real problems, the same Taylor that pushed unbeaten SMW king Froch all the way and we mutn't forget what he did to a legend prior to Joe. He has 11 World champs on his resume, 5 fighters lol, B-hop was prime and p4p 3 so that is mental to suggest that. I'd love to see this qoute from Joe that he avoided RJJ, as I recall him always calling him out, and RJJ deciding Bus drivers were a better challenge.
I guess you´ve never seen Nunn. To be fair, when i read your ridiculous posts, i was exaggerating a bit with mine. Nevertheless i think Nunn could´ve won a decision. Nunn was one speedy guy. When James Toney listed the best fighters he has fought, he listed Nunn, NOT RJJ, as the fastest on his feet. With his slappy punches i doubt, Calzaghe would´ve knocked him out, as Toney was able to do. Nunn by close decision over a prim Calslappy.

Jones was in his prime against Calslappy ? I guess that´s the first fight you´ve seen of Jones. Try to get some Jones-footage at middle or supermiddle. Then you get to see some speed. Fact is, even an old, slowed down Jones was able to put Calslappy on his ass. Prime Jones would´ve taken him out early i believe, as Calslappy was a late starter.
Prime Nunn edges Calzaghe in speed, foorwork, size and reflexes. I would pick prime Nunn by close decision. Bad style matchup for Cazaghe as Nunn can do everything Calzaghe can just a bit better.
You're beyond stupid if you believe this, i'm not going to waste my time even addressing this because you're obviously blinded by your man crush you have on Calzaghe. The same taylor who practically won by shut out 118-110, 109-119 twice? Lacy is ****, Lacy is done. He was done after the beating he got by Calzaghe, and the shoulder operation he had. Eubank, Mitchell, Kessler, Lacy, B-hop (past prime b-hop, Prime B-hop you have to go back to his middleweight days, he's just that damn good) are the only boxers who are worthy of note, the rest are bums or fringe. If Calzaghe really wanted to fight he would of moved up to 175 ages ago, back in 2000, but he stayed at 168 fighting no marks until the end of his career. Oh look at this, this isn't Calzaghe stating that's he's avioded him, but something much better, proving to you, he fought an old washed up Roy Jones "One fighter that Calzaghe is not particularly interested in facing is Roy Jones, Jr., despite the fact that the former pound for pound king of the sport was at the top of the Welshman's hitlist for years. "Jones has been knocked out in two of his last three fights, so of course I'm not looking to fight him the way I used to," said Calzaghe. "I don't think that fight is going to happen because my promoter Frank Warren was speaking to Jones' people the other day and I think Jones has just basically priced himself out, asking for too much money. He's been knocked out a couple of times now and if I knock him out then people will say 'big deal, he's an old man'. Or, if all of a sudden Roy Jones has a good fight then I'm gonna get slagged off for that. I'd rather fight a good fighter in his prime rather than a good fighter that's on the slide." http://www.secondsout.com/uk-boxing-news?ccs=228&cs=19238 Bolded bits are the best. Pricing himself out? that's why the fight got made when Calzaghe left warren, Warren is a ****, so Roy, pricing himself out is not true.
Man you people are so easy to wind up. Cant you see what the thread starter is doing. And for the record Calzaghe beats Nunn by a wide UD. If you cant see that then your just a hater and have never seen either fight.
You clearly don't know what you are talking about. I guess you haven't follow boxing when prime Nunn was around (88'-92). Nunn has the edge over Calzaghe in speed, footwork, size, reflexes. Nunn wins a close decision in this one. Calzaghe has the better career andand legacy but Nunn was the better fighter.
:rofl Calzaghe had a better record. Much better at Super Middle. I would have to give Calzaghe an edge based on record, but Calzaghe would be facing one of the quickest most talented fighters that he has ever faced. Calzaghe by SD.
Mate im 31 and have been following boxing all my life. So im in a pretty good position to voice my opinion. Nunn was a good fighter and was right up there with Calzaghe but had a weeker chin and couldnt adapt as well as Calzaghe. How do you think Nunn would have faired against Eubank Benn Watson or G man.?
I do not think the chin would become an issue in the fight. Yes, Calzaghe can adapt but prime Nunn would be the best fighter he has faced so far (better than 40+RJJ and Hopkins). I see Nunn building up an early lead, Calzaghe would adapt and catch up but lose a close decision. The problem is, Nunn just seems to be a little better in every department. Nunn beats Watson. Against Benn, Nunn's chin could betray him and Benn could knock him out. But he has to catch him first not an easy thing to do against prime Nunn who as quick on his feet and had good reflexes. I see the fight as 50/50.
LOOK AT THIS CALZAGHE DICK LOVER....Bottom line is we dont know how Calzaghe will perform against a great fighter in their PRIME WHY?? Because Joe has never fought a great Elite fighter in their peak...isnt that sad? Either the fighter was in his prime, but a bum Or the fighter was Great,But way past their prime SO MANY QUESTION MARKS ??????????????
