I don't rate Hill at all. If a prime lhw gets beat up by a waay past prime former ww ,then he can't be very good.
Ive seen the fight. Do you now think that Jones wasny DQ atsch. Wake up, its not just a bad dream, Jones did lose :nut
What were you insinauting with this post you did just a page or two previously on this thread Pot and kettle Zod
Fair enough. I dont think Hill was in it that night. I guess you dont rate Barkley for the same reasons?
How was novice Griffin so top rated? Because he beat Toney coming off a loss? Toney was a terrible LHW who struggled against Thadzi. I cant see that as top level and Jones was behind on one card in their first fight before losing. Every fights different, just because Jones won quickly first time doesnt mean it goes like that everytime, just look at the 3 fights between Pac and Morales to know that
Is it a win on Jones record then? Should we rewrite what happend between Dirrell and Abraham because Dirrell was starting to get caught more often and appeared to be dropping to the floor to get out of situations? Of course not
This thread is about a h2h matchup. We should be talking about stylistic matchups, not who ducked who. Rocky had been fighting since 1983 and he came out of a two year retirement for that rematch. Beating him then meant NOTHING.
Griffin at his best was a good fighter, undefeated and a top rated LHW.. Like it or not, he was a top LHW...Had an awkward style.. We both know Roy was gonna win the first fight, until he did something stupid... Had he not hit Griffin while down, Roy would have been up on all cards going into the next round, had Griffin even survived... (went to a knee to avoid getting KTFO) Griffin I also thought could have got up, put acted more hurt, to get counted out to get the win, Roy would have at least lost a point for the foul.... He obviously didn't feel like he could get up and beat Roy, even with the foul taking the knockdown away... Either way, Roy deserved to lose for hitting Griffin while down.
