I can't believe mostly everyone here thinks DM can't give him a good fight. DM would push Jones hard even if he lost each round.

Dm was slow footed and outside a decent jab was a slow puncher. His defense was mediocre. He turned his back to punches Hall was landing in a fight and had fit with Rocco. He lost every round to Griffen until the worst stoppage ever.

Jones plays with him. He wins ever round he decides not to take off. Dm knew this. That's why he never signed the contracts offered to him. Hell even on this website they reported they turned down a career high payday from Jones because it was "faxed" over to them.

There were reasons DM dumped belts at a pace. His handlers knew how limited he was.

I mean they dumped a belt instead of fighting William Guthrie to fight......Nicky Piper???

    That's not true though mate!

He fought Reggie Johnson in a unification fight in his very next fight, after this broadcast.

Steve Collins at this time, had been retired, he didn't have a belt, he'd lost to Reggie, and there was no public interest in the fight.

He also ended up fighting David Telesco the following year early in 2000.

Bernard Hopkins blocked the rematch by originally demanding the bigger share of the purse, even though Roy had already beaten him. From that point on, the fight was a complete no go, because Roy then demanded a 60/40 split.

Larry said in this video that Dariusz was now willing to go to America, but shortly after this broadcast he backed out. He later went on to have further negotiations, only to again back out for the second time.

After this video he went on to fight Gonzalez, Harding (who'd beaten Tarver) Harmon, Kelly, Woods, Ruiz, and then Tarver.

Some of those were very good wins, and Gonzalez went on to beat DM, and Woods went and had three very close fights with Glen Johnson.

    Regards, Loudon.

    :deal

I entered this thread to outline the EXACT same thing(s) written in the highlighted portion of this post, almost word for word.

    Uncanny.

    "dream fight" LMAO.

I wouldn't even favor DM to beat some of Jones top LightHeavyweight scalps.

Most of them were still playing with Barbie dolls during DM's prime.
