I think Prime 1985 to 1988 TNT Tucker can outpoint 90s Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. Tucker was a very good fighter competitive in any era. Not the washed up crackhead of TNT that went the distance with Lennox.

Anything is possible and he had the tools to spring an upset, but Holyfield is the favorite.

I personally would favor him, not by a lot though.

Tucker was damn good. He would’ve done not badly at all against Stevenson in 1980 when they were on that collision course.

Tucker wouldn't beat Holyfield as he's just not on that level.

TNT is better than all round than Moorer and he got the job done.

You are picking a rare bad night as representative of how Tucker - Holyfield would go.

Lets call a spade a spade - Tuckers record is built on what? Beating James Broad? Going tooth and nail with Douglas before Douglas tapped out? Going 12 rounds with Tyson of which he fought mostly conservatively and won what, three of them?

Tucker was a pretty good fighter with a VERY short peak but in the real world he just didn't get much done.

    It's very unlikely.

Douglas didn't tap out, he was fighting well and got caught with a good punch got hurt, then succumbed to barrage good punches and was saved by the ref.

Many aren't so convinced. In fact his heart and determination were questioned publicly and he was labelled a quitter in multiple circles after that fight. His father, who bizarrely had been trying to upstage him at times in camp walked away in disgust at the conclusion. Douglas said he wasn't there mentally and got rid of his father as trainer before having a nice little winning streak culminating in Tyson. The belief that he had a bit of quit in him was part of what made him such long odds against Tyson. Everyone knew he had talent.

I think Tucker just hit Douglas a good shot and Douglas couldn't respond.
    I didn't see any quitting.

I think the "quitter" label originates in a previous loss Douglas had. With Miike White perhaps.

I "know" they came after the Tucker fight as they are out there for all to see. Tucker is on record whining about all those reports.

    Why was Tucker whining?

I didn't mean "Douglas is a quitter" wasn't bandied about after the Tucker loss, or that he wasn't accused of quitting in that fight. I mean his reputation as a quitter in boxing circles was already established, due to a previous loss.
    Hence why I said "originated".
It doesn't contradict what you are saying.

Actually, it might have been the Bey fight.
