I don't think that a guy that was getting worked by Corley, Torres, and Judah before punching them all in the nuts more than once, to weaken them and get back into the fight, would beat Porter.

You seem to forget the catchweight of 144, and ten pound rehydration clause, placed on Porter to weaken him.

Cotto was weakened when fighting at 140 against Torres and Corley. My old avatar was a picture of Cotto punching Judah in the nuts so I am no big fan of Cotto. However, I have to give credit when it is due and Cotto is a helluva boxer. If Thurman can handle Porter at 147, I think Cotto would dismantle him. Porter seems like a decent brother but he is very crude and I can't see him beating someone as skilled as Cotto.

Say what you will but Ricardo Torres comes to fight. Ask Kendall Holt,

Is anyone taking into consideration how Cotto might not have the engine to fight for 3 minutes, every round? That's what you've got to do with Porter. Thurman and Brook are decent punchers and they weren't able to hurt him enough to put him on his back foot. Cotto is a much better technician, but he basically drew with Clottey

Dont usually jump into these fantasy match ups but this one caught my eye. I think prime Cotto is just too rounded for Porter, a bit too skilled and would get the better of most engagments. But i just dont see him stopping Porter and Porter wont stop trying and will make it into a really gritty and bloody fun fight to watch. Cotto comfortable on points.

Cotto does(did?) have problems with bullies, but even Berto was able to catch Porter coming in quite often. The question is, imo, could Porter dish out what Margarito did while taking what Margarito took? I think Cotto stops him, but if Porter can take it, he'd have a decent chance. Like you said, 4/10 or so.

That was his official weightclass though. 144 with a 10 pound rehydration limit, wasn't Porter's. I'd reckon that shot knocks Cotto out under the same circumstances.

It was a weight class that Cotto was starving to make and when has Cotto been knocked out?

Cotto-Clottey II: There Will Be Blood, A LOT of Blood.

With a similar questionable decision for Cotto.

Broner was close and Cotto only has been stopped after an accumulation of punishment. I've never seen one shot hurt him the way Porter was hurt. lol at me defending Cotto but that's the way I see it.

Cotto never had a 144 pound catchweight and 10 pound rehydration limit at 147 though.
