Thomas in his prime had a hell'a of a jab. It was Douglas' jab, plus his toughness that beat Tyson. Thomas has a real shot if he get past 6 rounds.
:thumbsupV.Good post m8. :thumbsup Pinko was 4 yrs Past-Prime VS Tyson. Tyson was 100% at his v.best/Peak VS Douglas. Douglas was teh 1st person who stood-up to Tyson And used a v.good jab on him - teh jab was way better then any he ever faced in 37 fights Before And His famous head-movement was Too-PREDICTABLE too get away from it As Doug Timed teh Bobbing'n'Weaving Motions all fight long. Prime Pinky had Nearly as good Jab as Douglaz - so i say he swells up Mikey's face with it Every-Round like BusteR did. Toughness was a v.good mention too!! Douglas was teh toughest motha Tyson had Ever fought in 38 fights total- so he had teh Toughness/Cheen to Absorb,, Take And stand-up to Tyson's Famous multi-punch Combos Every-Round. Prime Pinko was v.much Tougher than teh SHOT OLD HEROIN-Junkie Tyson fought - so yep I say he could take teh Tyson combos like Douglas did - instead of Folding like a Cheap deck-chair from teh Pound Shop like he did in Round 6 from a Tyson combo,, teh same sort of Multi-Punch Combo Douglas took for teh 1st 8 roundz VS Tyson - But he REFUSED to be intimidated//Bullied, unlike Tysons' 1st 37 Bullying Victims!!
Tyson still wins by KO.I dont think the Thomas that Tyson beat was far from his best.It would be pretty much the same fight
Except your interpretation of reality, as usual, is far off base. Thats why idiots like Foreman Hook are the only people who agree with you.
My2Sense is a Unbiased Tyson-Xpert And a Boxin'-Xpert, Every-one should listen to His super-intelligent v.FACTUAL posts IMO. :deal
None of the others fought Tyson the way Douglas did. Douglas boxed and moved and jabbed and initiated the punching, didn't wait for Tyson, he backed Tyson up. Of course it's easy to categorize several fighters with some common traits as having the "same style", but it's not accurate.
Yes they did. Tucker did, Tubbs did, many did. None of them had the version of Tyson that Douglas had in front of him. See it works both ways.
After watching Mike Tyson's career come and go over the past 25 years, its interesting to see where opinions of him have gone.. He went from - - Being the youngest heavy weight champ in history to being the second youngest, on the basis of an obscure technicality. - He went from being virtually unbeatable, to being a man who could have been stopped by any tall rangy fighter with a half way decent jab, ( regardless of his proven track record against fighters of such description. ) - He went from being potentially, one of the greatest heavy weights of all time, to barely making a lot of people's top 10, and in some cases not at all... I'm guessing that the next thing to appear in some of these threads is the claim that he wasn't even a licensed professional, and that he was actually just an amatuer who was fighting in fixed pro fights, without any legal backing to do so.... Let's wait and see....
I find it interestingly amusing that some on here can recognize a fighter, fighting out of character, being past his best, shot, undertrained, injured, whatever, but when it comes to Tyson, it was the same Tyson all the time. This thread is a perfect example of it.
Agreed, I'll be the first to say that Tyson's head to head abilities are often blown out of proportion by his supporters, but in recent years, the detractors have actually surpassed them in their idiocy. Whenever discussing the greatness of a particular fighter, there is always going to be a certain amount of revisionism, but in Tyson's case, its gotten way out of hand. Talk about Jack Dempsey being KO'd in one round by Jim Flynn, or losing to Willie Meehan, and it gets swept under the carpet... Bring up Tyson losing to Douglas in the same conversation, and it all of sudden becomes the cornerstone of his career, seemingly errasing everything that he did prior to that point.. I think it comes down to popularity more than anything else... Men like Dempsey, Louis, Ali and Marciano were viewed as all American heroes and for the most part, likeable people... Tyson was a convicted ****** who harbored a street punk image, and therefore his persona is tainted and carried over to his boxing legacy......Its all about human nature and the emotion that drives it I suppose...
I gave no "interpretation," I pointed out what's plainly shown right there on the films. As usual, your posts address everything BUT what's plainly right there on film.
If you're pretending Unforgiven, McGrain, ChrisPontius, and PeteThePrince either don't exist, or are idiots as well.
