Prime Mike Tyson vs David Tua

Come on, Tyson was 24 when Buster ko'ed him

 

That's the advantage for Tyson I like ,his hand speed and combo's. But meeting Tua in the center of the ring and exchanging is dangerous for Mike. This is not a given at all that Tyson takes it. The style matchup indicates a nuclear war would ensue

It is not the age that matters, then Tyson bad form (lifestyle). Mike was knocked down by a sparring partner in sparring. Mike was never in worse shape in the pre-prison era.

You know when I watched the fight I didn't really see that much difference in Tyson than in his other fights. But I think it was around the 5th round when I saw something that caught my attention, Buster fought him with bad intentions. I think it'd been so long since that happened and everyone was predicting Tyson would ko him in 30 seconds that Mike was surprised that he was in a REAL fight. Of course he had no corner, trainer or any support at that time. I've thought if it hadn't been Buster it'd have been someone else eventually, probably Holyfield .

 

Nobody here is saying Ibeabuchi's power isn't legit. What I'm saying is he was a 16 fight novice and doesn't have the defense, skill and/or delivery system and championship pedigree that Tyson had. It takes more than just power to get the job done.

 

Razor also tied Tyson up when he got in close. And Tyson still connected to the body and breaking Razor's ribs. You ever see Tua tie someone up and outmaneuver them? Did you catch feather fisted Chris Byrd almost knock Tua down with a single body shot?

Tyson isn't one dimensional. Tua is, though.

 

I find it a real possibility that Tua knocks Tyson down in this fight.Keeping him there is another matter.

 

It's possible. Tyson's chin is top tier and belongs up there with the best of em.

 

Isolated incident. Who else did he land right hands on? Or who did he ever land a right uppercut on? He was on par with Ruddock when it came to punch selection.

 

Tyson was a better fighter. Faster, more dynamic and very very aggressive. Tua had a granite chin but could tend to go through the motions somewhat though he carried his power late more so than Tyson.

That said I think Tua would feel Tysons speed and power and be content to survive and Tyson would cruise to a wide UD. Tysons advantage in skill would be pronounced.

Still it’s a very interesting match up style wise. Both exploited their general height disadvantages really well but it’s clearly canceled out by both being in the same size range. But Tyson was the better talent so he wins imo.
