I’d also include a prime Evander. I think no matter what, Evander would never be afraid of Mike and would always have his number. They’d probably split a multi fight series.
I got the mythical prime Tyson. Tyson had 27 fights before he fought for a world title. Anthony Joshua had 15 fights. We still haven't seen the best of Anthony Joshua, he's a champion that is learning all the time. We are yet to see the prime Anthony Joshua.
I could get there, but Moorer and Bowe give me pause and Moorer had neither the power or the speed of Mike, and Bowe was a lumbering plodder in comparison. But Holys chin and ATG counters keep him in every H2H matchups. Good shout
I agree but also will that I think Moorer and Bowe would trouble Mike- at least on their best nights. Neither Riddick or Michael had long primes at heavyweight but they were both down to the bone fighters.
I picked Tyson. I'd also pick a prime Wladimir. And a prime Holyfield. Hell, I think over-the-hill Povetkin has a good chance too. All these dodgy antics of flapping tape, spitting out mouthpieces etcetc are starting to give me that "this man is being protected" feeling.
Joshua reminds me Clenelo - a carefully groomed, manufactured fighter who has “the look”. Like Alvarez, he’s a cash cow. He’s not as bad as his haters make him out to be, but nowhere near as good as his fans think he is. Like Clenelo, he’s had a couple of good tests but they are both contender types that are masquerading as champs.
