A chinny girl who got starched like an over protected girl by one big shot to the face twice, is going to ko a peak Mike Tyson. Please give me what everyone is smoking please. A pinklon Thomas result. Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
Lennox invites trouble if he tries opening up and going for the gusto. His best plan is to tie Tyson up and stink out the joint. I can see Lennox having early success and trying to continue that success only to get caught by a better technical killing machine. I see this as a better version of Tyson-Bruno 1 Here's one of the best threads, not only on Tyson-Lewis but from ESB... http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=112813
prime for prime yes .......go watch lewis v tua ....lewis was so passive and tua was fat and way slower then a prime mike tyson and much harder to hit ....mike tyson in his prime would have knocked out lennox lewis in fact the evander holyfield who showed up against buster douglas and george foreman and bowe 2 nd fight would have knocked out lennox lewis late i like lennox but his resume is fighters past thier prime like mike weaver who was shot to **** / tyrell biggs/ ruddock who was never the same after tyson / and evander the old deal holyfield ...the only prime fighters lewis beat were gary mason...tommy morrison...oliver mccall ... andrew golota ...hasim rahman ...vitali klitchko ...david tua (but decided to come in as a fat pig )...michael grant (detroyed grants carrer )...zelko mavrovich....shannon briggs....tony tucker (not prime but not shopworn neither ) ...ray mercer ( who came in over weight and still gave lennox fits ).......go watch the tyson who fought green and then go watch the lennox who fought mercer ....and u will see ray mercer is no mike tyson ....speed kills and tyson early in his career was fast and was very hard to hit .....donovan ruddock told nick charles on cnn tyson was so hard to hit cleanly and tyson was already on the downside at that point .
The word highlighted in bold is key.. In my opinion, yes.. He "could've" beaten Lewis in his prime. Does that necessarily mean that it would pan out that way? Not really. The Tyson who fought Lewis is 2002 was about 12-13 years removed from his prime, so using that meeting as any kind of gauge is practically useless. And in truth, Lennox certainly struggled or even lost to far lesser men.. Then again, he was also by far and above better than any big man Tyson ever faced and possessed some of the attributes to always give him problems.. My guess is that this is 50/50. But Tyson would absolutely need a knockout. Can't see him winning on points.
If Vitali Klitschko had never fought Lewis then you could have very conceivably picked him on the very same premise.
That wasn't peak Tyson. Douglas could move better than Lewis and Tyson still nearly KO'd him. Douglas got up Lewis never got up to win a fight. Interesting fight. Tyson's ceiling while brief 87-89 was extremely high and I think his speed and aggression would be problematic for Lewis. Lewis of course had a huge punch and always tried to fight back and mix it up. I lean Tyson but no way to know in these matchups. Tyson would need to be in peak shape because of he seeks refuge in clinches Lewis would hammer him with the uppercut
Lewis with his size. skill and heavy hands himself would get Tyson partially beating himself, Tyson was not the strongest in the 'mental' department, when the going got real tough Tyson was found wanting. That is not dissing Tyson as he was a phenomenon to watch early on when he was a human wrecking ball, just feel Lewis has his measure.
Neither was Lewis peak in what i quoted Another guy in this thread nominated Tyson as prime up until Williams. Miraculously, less than 7 months later, despite having suffered barely any punishment in the ring whatsoever in his most recent handful of fights, and at age an age under 25, he wasn't prime. I know there are some intangibles but cutting it off at his most recent win is quite convenient.
My thoughts exactly. :good Now, it gets interesting if Lewis came out guns blazing... When Lennox did, and abandoned the "Chess" strategy, he was frightening!
