Honestly yall,Lennox Lewis would have never been able to KO Mike in his prime,Mike wouldve have easily ran right threw Lennox in his prime,so how many rounds will it take for Mike to KO Lewis???? I wanna say 4 rounds, but ima be nice MIKE TYSON BY KO IN ROUND 6!!
Well when they fought Mike was in a far different state then his prime and although i like Lewis a lot, it took him a good while to finish Mike. I find it hard to judge how well Lennox would have done but i can't forget how many shots Mike took and still kept on fighting even though he was spent as a fighter by then, Lennox knew Mike could still crack but imagine how lethal Mike was pre prison days. Prime Mike Tyson would have had fear in his opponent before even stepping into the ring, couple that with a safety and precaution style of Lennox who would be trying to ride out the initial storm of the first few rounds and Mike would have only to dodge Lennox' jab which i imagine him doing by bending his knees as he normally did and step in popping up in range for his hooks and uppercuts. Well at any rate Lennox would have had a seriously live opponent if they'd met in both their primes. Makes me wish for another Tyson to come along and lift the heavyweight scene back upon American shoulders.
Mike in his prime got frustrated and taken out of his game by mediocre big opponents who fought him at range and clinched when he came close. Lewis would do just that except he's bigger, stronger and ten times more skilled than the others who bothered Tyson with the same strategy Lewis only struggled against opponents who were able to fight with him at range. Tyson would not be able to do that I don't think Tyson was mentally tough enough to beat Lewis, or Holyfield, in their respective primes
It will take Lewis about 5 rounds to KO Mike. Prime Mike comes at Lewis hard, which makes it that much more painful when Lewis hits him back.
i agree with this, but mike has a chance becasue his power in his prime was freakish to say the least, I could see mike getting lewis on the ropes and teeing off....i still favor lewis though.
if lewis did'nt get ko'ed by mccal then we might know how hed fair a against a closer prime tyson and holyfield. I think lewis looses to both in their primes.
As much as I like Tyson I see Lewis taking this one. Lewis was a very good technical boxer who could bang. Tyson has a good shot at anyone in his prime with that crazy explosiveness. But I see Lewis keeping him at bay with that jab and frustrating Mike.
My money would be on Tyson. If ayone is interested ESPN classic is showing a handful of Lewis' fights on sunday I believe, there showing the Bruno, Briggs, Marovich, Morrison, and I think McCall. The thing with Lewis is, he can be hurt quite easy. He was severely rocked against both Bruno and Briggs early in fights. And you cant forget his match against Mercer which was extremely close, I think I had it a draw or a 1 point victory for Ray. Tyson is more powerful, skilled, and faster than all 3 I mentioned. And yet, Lewis had trouble in spots with both Bruno and Mercer.
u lot talk rubbish a prime mike wud beat any prime heavyweight period, he was easily the best ever those furious combinations into lewis would have ko'd that fraud
