The truth is that this one could go either way. If Lewis eats one of those bombs, I'm not sure he'd hand around for long. On the flip side, though, we all have images of Tyson bobbing and weaving his way through Lewis' guard to land something terrifying, but I honestly don't think that Tyson, in his prime, ever faced anyone who was even close to being as good as Lennox in his prime. That's what makes it hard to call. You can equally see Lewis systematically defusing Tyson from range before taking him out in the later rounds. I'd go Lewis -- just -- but it's not by much.
Lewis and Tyson both had a great ring IQ but tacticaly Steward is ahead of Cuz. This could be what seperates the fighters. Lewis should be able to pick Tyson from range and just tie up when Tyson gets close. No boddy is beating Lewis in teh clinch where Lewis could throw a deadly uppercut. Evryone assumes Tyson is going to come in bobbing and weaving usualy to teh degree they saw him to against grade C fighters , Lewis is leages above these guys and when he trys feeling Tyson out for the first few rounds he is either going to get hit then try to outpoint or hit Tyson with a big right letting Tyson know he can not just walk at Lewis. People go on about Lewises chin yet Tyson has been down more than Lewis. Lewis took bombs from Mercer , Briggs , Vitali and kept fighting . Yes Tyson hist harder than these guys but Lewis hits harder than the likes of Douglas.
It would depend on Lewis being able to tie Tyson up on the inside and lean on the smaller Mike to tire him out, if Lewis could sneak in some of those big uppercuts in the clinch as well i think he could soften up Tyson for a late KO victory.
All this tlalk of Tyson being a ferocious KO beast is bizzarre when you realise Bruno aside Lewis disposed of all their common opponent faster and more ferociously - Look at Ruddock - Golota - Holyfield -Biggs - Botha. So it was no surprise that Lewis battered a younger Tyson into submission and would always do so.
Looking at their resumes i would say yes. Coz was a great stylistic trainer, for one style. Steward has many styles in his hat of tricks all be it fighting tall is the most common. Tacticly Steward is way better than Cuz. I am a big fan of Cuz and if you had seen any of my other posts you would know that but you are one idiot to rate Cuz about Manny as a tactical trainer.
Stewart being better than Cus ? I don't know about that . I mean look at his hw champs Klitcko and LL two big men ..Meanwhile he made Tyson a dam monster ..From a raw talent perspective Cus can mold a fighter Manny can just tweak a fighter ..
I really think even prime Tyson would have struggled with very skilled man as big as Lennox. As explosive as Mike was he was still only about 5'11. It's a big ask for him to blast away a man of 6'5 or so who has a great jab and is excellent at fighting at range. I would definitely favor Lewis but not by a wide margin.
Tyson would be too fast & explosive for him, he has a better chin than Lewis & that could be critical & wouldnt gas after 12 rds never mind just 1 like their actual fight.
I would pick Lewis. Tyson could win early but I feel Lewis would frustrate Tyson and would win on points. Lewis mentally was tough enough to not be beaten before he even stepped in the ring.
I think you need to go back and watch each fight Biggs...It was on Tuesday night Fights and Lewis took a lot of heat for his timidness against a well shot opponent...
