And I must admit, I agree with all of his points. I always thought that Riddick Bowe got hit way too much to withstand a young Mike Tyson and that Tyson would stop him.

Also, a bit of fun trivia:

Did you know that Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe went to school together?

    Both are great h2h.
I think Bowe has the tools to beat mike... Size, power, skills, heart, chin...

Tyson would probably win most of the early rounds, probably hurting or even dropping bowe, but bowe has the heart of a lion and great recuperative power.
Around mid rounds Bowe starts to take over and finishes strong... Close but clear ud or late tko... Bowe's stamina and workrate are great

Tyson never fought anyone so big with the inside ability of Bowe, he was lazy on the inside and would like to hold for a ceasefire. Bowe wouldn't be so forgiving, he'd be tearing Tyson up with hooks and uppercuts. Tyson will hurt Bowe a few times but Bowe would fight fire with fire and stop Tyson between the 7th and 11th round.

Tyson takes his head home in a little cardboard box with a bow on it.

I actually give a prime Bowe a chance against Tyson, the infighting and uppercuts could have seriously hurt Mike. But Bowe could also take a lot of shots clean and against a prime Tyson that's not a clever thing to do.

IMHO that's really bad against a little wolverine like Tyson.

Bowe was pretty easy to land on and for me that's the deciding factor. It's one thing having some featherfist bouncing stuff off your face, but when Mike is steaming in with his bombs you have got to either get off first - and prime Tyson was way faster than Bowe - or you have to have a great defence to frustrate him. Mike himself was not easy to land clean on with his peekaboo, and you needed considerable accuracy / speed / timing to do so. I don't think Bowe had the goods.

    I foresee a massacre.

Only way Bowe could conceivably win is to try smother him inside or get up from multiple KD's and grind down Tyson later on when he slowed. I'll give Bowe credit in that he possibly was tough enough / had the heart to do so, but my word, if he did pull it off he'd look like a road accident victim even in victory.

Yep that's the only way I give Bowe a chance. Riding through the Tyson storm, getting hurt probably dropped and coming back to stop a fatigued mike. But my word, Bowe would have to be the very best of his short prime here. And I'm talking about the Tyson that was dropping heavy s that had never been down so a big ask of Riddick. That s the chance I give Bowe, slim..

I think Tyson stops him. Bowe has the gifts to do lots of damage to Mike but his defence (or lack of) will hurt him badly here.

There are different opinions and I like both fighters. I think Bowe would be one of the toughest MIke's opponents h2h, considering that he had great offensive skills, size, power, workrate and ability to take punches/come back when he's hurt.

Bowe would have to come back from being hurt vs Tyson. It wouldn't be any other option.

Like with Ali and Fraizer, Fraizer walking through Ali's punches was totally different than trying to walk through George Foreman punches.

And Bowe would find that walking through Holyfield punches is totally different than trying to walk through Tyson's punches.

Not saying that Tyson would do Bowe like Foreman did Fraizer, but that Bowe couldn't just barrel forward all night. I think Bowe would need more movement or defense

Eh. Thats a hard one. Mike Tyson was a mid range fighter but had the ability could take it to his opponents on the inside. Regardless Bowe is a better inside fighter and that would trouble Tyson. Bowe also has a good chin and loved throwing uppercuts in combinations. I actually don't know who would win this. Style make fights. I'd give Mike Tyson a far better shot at beating someone like Vitali than Riddick Bowe but id give Bowe a better shot at beating Foreman than Tyson

Mike's probably the favourite here, but Bowe has the tools to hurt him as well. Great match-up in any case.

Much as I hate to admit it, Bowe is WAY to hittable. Being hit, by Tyson with any degree of consistency is a recipe for a brutal KO loss.

Bowe that futch motivated for one fight..................Id lean toward bowe. Tyson had problems with big guys who could jab let alone had a devastating uppercut and inside game.
