I don't think either of the options of, "Klitschko beats him up or that Tyson stops him early" would be way either boxer win/loses. I favour Tysons pressure prevailing late in the fight. However it is possible that Klitschko with his size and fight style, could frustrate Tyson enough for him to implode, but i say possible not probable. Youthful wrecking ball beats mature Steelhammer
Klitschko ends up on ice skates against prime Tyson who still had Cus and was able to stay focused on the task at hand.. Probably be a tough fight for him for a while though.
Wow, I always thought it was later than that. In any case - I assume prime Tyson is one that could stay focused better - under Rooney I take it?
Prime Tyson VS a guy that can only hold on the inside and must his land his jab to enable his bigger shots>? Tyson beats him, even though he struggles against bigger guys.. Who could use the clinch to nulify his speed I just don't see Wlad being able to do it for 12.. If AJ can find an uppercut to cause problems, then so could Tyson, except his was faster and landed harder.
Because that was all prime Wlad has inside-hold. He's not throwing the uppercut Smith did etc. Wlad was a very nervy fighter in close, suspect chin etc The clinch is all Mike has to worry about, and he's much faster on his feet than Wlad and has a lot of targets to aim at.
Smith was literally hugging all night long and was deducted 3 points for doing so. Wlad is a better boxer than Bonecrusher in any aspect of a craft. Besides the clinch - Mike needs to worry about that powerful jab and a right hand from hell.
41 year old Vlad is probably the most overrated boxer in history due to Joshua fanboys needing him to be some great mythical fighter because the sting of going life and death with a 41 year old, beltless, two years inactive fighter is too much for them. Oh, did I mention he was "SUPER MOTIVATED"?
I think its purely because the fight was so exciting and entertaining. When you put that aside the whole situation seems unimpressive. Wlad came back after a 2 year lay-off at 41, looked gunshy with his timing off the whole time (couldn't go for the kill when AJ was down and hurt, missed a ton of left hooks and jabs) and he still put on an absolute war against a prime AJ for 11 rounds. AJ is really lucky it was a fun slugfest, if it was even half as boring as Fury vs Wlad no one would be on his hype train.
This comment I agree with. Wlad trying to be aggressive against Tyson would play right into Mike's strengths. But I also don't believe in a million years that Wlad would go after Tyson, when he had a style tailor-made to destroy the little people.
Of course, for Wladimir to adopt an aggressive tactic against the prime Tyson would have been suicide. Surely Wladimir against a swarmer like Tyson would have adopted a careful tactic and used his reach, with the use of the Jab to keep the opponent away, something we have seen many times under Steward. Against Joshua Klitschko tried to win inside the distance, and at 41 years old he almost succeeded. Then he ran out of gas and we know how it ended, but it was one of the most spectacular matches between heavyweights of the new millennium.
So, Brewster does better against a near prime Wlad than a prime Tyson does against a past prime 41 year old Wlad?
