"look at their bodies" is not really an indicator of how well the brain is ordering the body to use the right skills at the right time.

it might indicate relative fitness though. wlad was always well conditioned for a big man. holmes was coming out of retirement, so his conditioning might be less (in the event we know it wasnt because of what he did later). A pot belly is difficult to shift in your late 30s once acquired.
