I'm a Kessler fan but my God, prime Roy would dismantle him. Look how somewhat past prime Calzaghe disrupted Kessler when he started boxing him!

 

I for one think that a prime Kessler is a very good, underrated fighter.

But a prime Roy Jones - especially the one we saw against Toney - is superman, and can not be beaten by any MW/SMW in modern times. I think the last MW to have a good chance at beating a prime Roy Jones, we would have to go back to Marvin Hagler.

I think that a prime Kessler could go the distance against Roy tho. Kessler is tough and can take a beating, and I don't think prime Roy would put the pedal to the metal for a full 12 rounds.

No, in all seriousness Bailey needs to understand that their are levels in the sport and a prime Jones at 168 would need to be hunted down by an absolut knockout artist , but with speed . Only then would I give that opponent a slim chance. The names I have are Benn , Mclellen and Jackson. I am afraid Kessler and Calzaghe would get stopped as their strengths (Kessler strength) (Calzaghe speed) would be matched easily and I honestly think that Joe would be stopped earlier than Kessler. They just wouldnt see the punches coming.

 

The Toney that lost to Roy would also beat Kessler.

Still it has once again shown how sad you are .
What you fail to acknowledge is that Toney and Jones have been proven as cheats, Kessler hasnt.

Kessler would beat the weight drained Toney that lost to Jones.

HUUUUUUUUUUUGE RJJ fan right here. The man was magic.

But lets not forget Woods backed him up through work rate for a good few rounds and prime Kessler is 10x better than woods.

Then again kessler is very vertical and open.

I'd give RJJ the edge and think he'd win but it's not as easy as saying fighter A or B would walk this fight - especially as prime RJJ never fought anyone as good as prime Kessler.
