Very interesting fight. I wouldnt be surprised who wins. Golotas probably a bit too big for Moorer, and Moorer really doesnt have the power to make Golota quit, but I think its a good competitive boxing match, leaning towards Golota.

that's my thought as well. on paper, golota is a head to head monster. but he was NEVER able to utilize those skills against a top tier opponent. i'm not concerned with intangibles at the moment, more than he could simply never beat a decent opponent

Agreed about Moorer's weight for the most part. However, I just rewatched Moorer-Holyfield 1 a couple of nights ago and when he won the title from Holyfield at 214, Moorer looked really sluggish. Not sure what was going on with him that night, but I thought I should point it out.

Golota ends him worst than he ended Bowe

Moorer would never be the same if he ever had to fight a prime Golota

In my opinion these are two very unproven heavyweights, and we dont really know just how good either of them really were. There is something about the Bowe Golota fights, for me though. I thought that both fighters looked very, very good, and if i was told that on that night those were 2 of the best fighters ever to step in the ring, i would not find it completely unbeleiveable. They seemed to have everything. Speed, Power, Chin, Heart, Stamina etc. We often heare complaints that Golota wrecked Bowe, but rarely ever hear that Bowe wrecked Golota. I really think that he might have. Golota has never performed close to the same level again. IN fact, if i was told that my life depended on finding a non world champion fighter, who could dethrone the current champion with the help of a time machine. I really think that I might decide to give this Andrew Golotta the shot (and hope he doesnt hit to the balls).

Of course, the flip side is that if it didnt ruing Golota, and Post Bowe Golota is as good as it gets, then obviously he wasnt much chop. Either way, i think stylistically, Golota is bad for Moorer and Moorer doesnt pose too many troubles for Golota. Golota by KO in the 10th

    Yep.

And I hd a lot riding on Moorer for the upset. But it was kind of like a Saad Muhammad or Mustapha Muhammad fight by Moorer. The opposition was not changing anything they did but Leaving windows for him. All Moorer had to do was to put the fight in 3rd gear and press on the gas. But he just didn't seem to want to do that and just coasted along, settling for a close decision.

But his combos weren't missing Evander. And he was stuffing that jab right down the pipe. Holyfield spent half the night trying to regain his balance and re-set himself.

Back then, it just wasn't possible to get proper sparring for a sharpshooter like Moorer. And that nice right hook from a southpaw.

I think Golota would spank him for a few rounds and then throw away the fight by thumbing / headbutting / nutshotting Moorer repeatedly, the same as he always managed to do. The Bowe version of Golota was pretty darn good with a commanding jab and flowing combinations. Then again, maybe Bowe just wasn't as good as everyone thinks he was.

I really like this ****ysis. This is a tough fight to call. But, this summary has a good chance of being spot on.

It would probably be a close tactical boxing match. I'll pick Moorer bc he'd be less likely to blow it.

Golota fighting with Bowe would beat Moorer in points. And I cannot say whether there would be any unforeseen circumstances. Judging by the southpaw style, Byrd, whom IMO Golota also beat, but that was 8 years later.

I don’t know if Moorer can force Golata into quit mode the way that other imposing heavyweights did. It would be a very tough fight
