nono I was attended the first Barrera Morales fight and I had Barrera by 2 points, the only ones in the crowd who thought Morales won were his fans.I lost 100$that night on 2to 1 odds(Morales was the favorite) I wasnt the only one who was robbed. I thought Morales got the 2nd one though so i guess they just switched places. Ok i think this is about as even matched as can get but im leaning towards Marquez, but hey If they had a rematch Morales gets it. Or vice versa I think they are evenly matched kind of like Barrera and Morales. Id like to ask Pac this question.
Sounds about right to me. I would make it about the same for MAB, except I think Marco would win a unanimous decision at FW.
I think that morales would have been a lot more competitive at 130/135 if he went up in weight earlier. he was basically killing himself in the last pac-morales fight just to hit the weight. yet, he was able to KD diaz right in the first round. i thought he won the fight. even at 135, i would still favor EM over marquez assuming both are prime.
You are underrating EM and MAB Truth is, he was right there with them in terms of talent, it's impossible to know for sure what happens in these fights. I like MAB against JMM because MAB could box with him, but he had another gear if he needed it that JMM doesn't have. If EM can make his jab work against JMM he might be able to make it an easy fight. If JMM gets past his jab with regularity, it's a nightmare for Erik. The only thing I can say for sure is that I wish to hell these fights would have happened. I don't think a prime MAB-JMM fight is even possible, MAB was at his best at 122, JMM started his career at FW. Also, MAB was already a champ when JMM was just coming up so he would have had some pretty hard miles on him already even if they had met up at FW.
Pac came too late, he was there when the curtain dropped, not when the show was still going on. Give him the first MAB fight, and let's say there was still enough of MAB left to make it a great victory. Had Pac been contemporary with JMM, MAB and EM and had they all been fighting each other, I would have no problem saying it would have been the greatest time of ANY division in boxing history, including the WW's during SRL, Hearns, Benitez and Duran. ****, as long as we're wishing, let's wish Hamed had stuck around for the fireworks as well... wow! I voted for Morales, not because I'm confident in that choice but because I wanted to see the poll results lol... I should have given it to JMM just to make it more interesting.
Scatt, You are inviting Divac to make a litany in his reply. An in depth analysis on what will happen and how will JMM beat Morales :hey:hey:hey
I disagree Bernie. Marquez was already peaking in 02 when he dominated peden and Whupped Medina shortley after, Barrera was also when he fought Morales the 2nd time and beat up on his buddy Tapia and that was only a year after beating up Naz in 01, that was a peak Barrera. Although I understand why the fight wasnt made Marquez was to much of a high risk fight and not as big as a payday. I think Morales and Barrera new that Marquez was already on their level, but why risk it when fighting eachother was so much Bigger. Even Naz new that Marquez was already an elite fighter way back in 2000 thats why he avoided him.
You one blind ******* if you think Pac destroyed Marquezatsch Morales was already faded when he beat up Pac the 1st time, but you already know this i shouldnt feed into Pacredartism
I disagree. I think MAB lost a half step when he moved up to FW in 2001 for Hamed. He was still a great fighter of course, he just couldn't attack as savagely for as long as he could at 122. We're basically splitting hairs here. JMM didn't help his cause by losing to Norwood in a snoozer. There was a building interest in seeing him fight EM or MAB until that happened, then he pretty much had to start all over again. I don't think the general public really took an interest in him again until he beat Peden til he puked in 02.
I like Morales at 130. IMO, Morales was not that impressive at 126. He seems to have a downtime at that weight class. Imagine the struggle he had with In Jin Chi and his poor title-winning effort against Guty Espadas..
