As much as I dislike PBF as a person, I have to go with PBF on this BUT not by KO. IMHO PBF is way faster than Mosley was/is and can probably pick him apart from the outside and his quick combos...Thats just me though.
I am not a fan of either, but I think at 130lbs Floyd Mayweather would beat Shane Mosley convincingly. Mayweather was just a superior being at 130 and 135, not just as good as but on a similar level to RJJ at 160-175. Mosley was good at 135, but never beat anyone particularly special. I give Mosley a much much better chance at 147. Not now, but when Mosley was at his 147 best.
mosleys hands were fast as F"ck at lightweight. power to go with it mayweather would not be able to shoulder roll agasint some one fast like mosley. he could not do it with zab.
The higher up in weight they go, the better chance Mosley would have. Mayweather became a very cautious fighter at 147 than he was at say, 135 - meaning it was easier to win rounds against him. That said, I just think Mayweather is on a different level, a fact that would be proven by a UD in his favour.
Mayweather didn't utilise the shoulder-roll so much at 130 and 135 though, only when he chose to do so. He was more mobile and more attacking then, he could box and move round the outside v Shane at 135, he wouldn't lie on the ropes and fight in the pocket.
Have you seen Shane when he was at 35? The guy was a power punching beasts with INSANE speed. Only a prime Duran and Sweet Pea beats him at the weight and thats because Shane never had no defense. His offense was he`s defense because he was so busy.
You've obviously never even watched Shane at LW, nor a prime Shane period. He was known for having some of the best handspeed of all time, though Floyd was the better mover. At LW I see this bout as very close, but I'd give Floyd the edge based on his outside skills.
Shane would've been beaten by quite a few LW's aside from just Whitaker and Duran. Only someone with a very limited knowledge of the division would say otherwise, or else just a big Mosley fan.
Shane simply threw to much leather. For every 1 punch he`s opponent had thrown Shane would have thrown at least 5 or 6 punches. He`s combinations were excellent and he was a great body puncher with concussive power. Despite the assertions that Shane wasnt a banger at 35 the guy could punch that wasnt in question at all.
